About Me:
I'm John Boyette, a seasoned firearms trainer with over 20 years of extensive experience. My journey began in the U.S. Army, where I served as an Airborne Infantry Combat Veteran with deployments to Egypt, Kosovo, and Iraq.

Currently employed as an Armed Nuclear Security Officer, I hold the prestigious NRA Advanced Pistol certification, shared by only 200 individuals nationwide. I'm certified in NRA Rifle, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, and both NRA defensive courses. From 2004 to 2005, I served as the first U.S. Army Designed Marksman Chief Instructor and graduated from the North Carolina Law Enforcement Sniper School.

Beyond military and security roles, I'm a Field Training Officer at Duke Energy and faculty at the Sonoran Desert Institute Gunsmithing School, specializing in Shooting Sports Management, Sights, Optics, and Rifle Accuracy.

Since 2007, I've safely trained over 600 students, establishing myself as a highly respected figure in firearms training.

See you online or on the line this year.

Looks like February 17th is the first day available. Due to colder weather, gloves, jackets, I am thinking of the two 3-hour classes:

- Defense Carbine/PCC
- Defense Shotgun

Time slots would be 9am - 12pm and then 1pm - 4pm

$100 for 1 class or $175 for both.

What do you guys think?

What's the class agenda, amount and types of ammo needed, etc.?

Great question and I will post the full description in each classes own post once I get to it. (This week)

Historically for 3-hour defensive courses I teach, round count is like 200, the course breakdown:
- an assessment in the beginning
- development of essential skills, (reloads, malfunction clearance, decision development, B.S.A.)
- Skills test
- do the assessment again

You will be shocked on how much you can learn in 3-hours and 200 or so rounds in a well structured MOI.

More to come, thanks for the question.

@JBoyette

I would really be interested in this "Riflescopes 101" class, when it comes around. John's carbine zero article on the other site was a great resource of understandable knowledge.

Understandable knowledge is so much better than knowledge that nobody understands!!!!!

ETA: Also interested in the precision rifle 101 class
