Am interested in getting a couple for the kids to try out, as Christmas presents. Hoping this will catapult them into going to the range more often. 10/22s are at a price point where the sales tax/FFL transfer equation is about equal, or maybe even in sales tax's favor slightly. Inventories at gun shops are always a little hit or miss, but I was wondering if there were any shops within spitting distance of Greensboro or Winston that stocked 10/22s regularly.

No idea but maybe at the show in GSO this weekend?

I've completely given up on gun shows. Donated $7 - $10 too many times and not seen squat I wanted.

Maybe this one will be on a completely different level. $11 plus parking.

I gave up on the Greensboro show long ago. After driving an hour and then getting shafted with that ridiculous parking fee (I know - it's private property and they can do what they want) to wander around in a PACKED location was just too much. I have found some cool items (including a S&W Model 19) there that I hadn't seen before at the Raleigh show. Raleigh is about 20 minutes and FREE parking so that is the only show I now attend. I did go to the Asheville show once when I was up there taking my son back to UNC-A. I can eat $8 worth of free beef jerky samples so I at least make the trip worthwhile. :)

Most gunshops have at least a small variety of 10/22's. I'm thinking about picking up another when the funds allow and have been checking prices. Cabelas and bass pro were the same price as my favorite local store. The one at bass pro had fiber optic sights and a nicer stock without a barrel band.

Try your walmart if you don't find one. I had been looking for a Woodstock model and finally found one at Madison wally. Oh and wally is 40 to 60 cheaper than a lgs. I'd rather buy local but in this instance it wasn't feasible.

Gun Rack in Kernersville has had 10/22s every time I've been in. He had basic models on sale for $179 the other day.

The Gun Store, north of Lexington typically has inventory of various models.
