RMR HD

Patent link

Looks like an RMR but with more reticles and a front facing light sensor for auto brightness.

RCR

Trijicon is finally in the pistol mailbox world. No plate needed, uses RMR footprint with what looks like some capstan screws. Battery on top, toolless adjustments.

I have no idea why whoever took these used a camera like a neanderthal

Might need more info but so far I don’t see anything groundbreaking. Good to see Trij finally offering an enclosed emoter though.

Speaking of picture quality, is there a trick to taking pics of a computer screen?

If you're on Windows you can use the built in snipping tool (search in the start menu or press win key + shift + s) and it'll take a screenshot that you can edit or save. You can also press PRTSC (print screen) on your computer and paste it into word or paint, then crop/save it.

508 isn’t enclosed and 509T isn’t RMR footprint, it requires plates.
Sorry, you're right. I was thinking the 508 was a non-Ti version of the 509T, and I lumped the 509T in because they provide an RMR adapter with it. But I'm also having to toss the provided adapter plate on my Walther because its still too tall for Walther's cowitness irons on the PDP. I get why they did it that way, but it still sucks.

Well, a little late to the party but better late than never. This is the innovation I’ve been waiting to see, and I can see a RCR in my future as long as it’s not retardedly priced.

Oooh gotcha, yes, any screen capture option will be far superior than taking a picture of a screen. I thought you were implying there was a better way to take pics.
Since these are “leaks”, I’m assuming they didn’t have the ability to take screenshots and send them to themselves. Regardless, at least the pics are all legible.

Oh snap. Now what will be everyone’s excuse for not buying RMRs? Gonna need a new one 😂
Same as my reason for not buying one already - lack of auto-on/shake awake. I'd have preferred they'd have addressed that before adding in an auto-brightness feature that I'd never use.

With battery life measured in YEARS is “shake awake” really a thing anymore?

They already have auto brightness. Press both buttons at the same time and bam, auto bright. They just moved the sensor.

I don't get it. They come up with a circle for reticle then don't include it on the enclosed emitter product. I'm shopping for one to put on the 1301, and this is disappointing.

Considering the length of time they have had to R&D these advances, I’m a little disappointed. I will still likely buy a RMR HD. But wish it was an enclosed like the Holosun EPS models.

It is when years gets reduced to months at daylight bright settings, though more so an issue with green dots than red.
Isn't the green 508T supposed to be more efficient than the red?

Not sure. I hear anecdotally that it can be a wash on some optics based on green requiring a lower brightness setting due to perceived brightness being higher, but apples to apples the green dots in general supposedly have significantly lower battery life. Holosun battery life in general tends to be WAY higher than many other brands, though.

RCR looks awesome but I bet it'll be wildly expensive. Wonder how durable the capstan screws will be. Good to hear they are sticking to the rmr footprint so we will have 2 basic footprints for most red dot models rmr and rms hopefully more manufacturers will just pick one so we can stop using this plate nonsense.

I decided to go with the eps-c for my pdp-f
no regerts so far

There is a "trick" that I've found. Move the phone while taking the pic.

Take a look at the two pics below. The first one, I'm holding the phone still.
The second pic I am not-so-slowly moving the phoone towards the screen when I pull the trigger.

Why not the RCR if you want enclosed?

The rcr is incredibly interesting, hopefully they're tough enough. I keep seeing more and more info about Acro P2s and 509Ts having issues with moisture intrusion and fogging.

I have a 509t that’s been good but treated like a baby due to just shooting more rifle this year.

I’m glad to have another duty grade manufacturer in the mailbox market. Big deal to me.

It looks enormous! Now I haven’t looked any reference material and it may be a lot smaller than I think. If that’s the case, I would go that route.

It does look big in that pic but I think that’s deceiving. Seems to be mounted on a 1911 with a large looking plate. I bet is smaller than the ACRO, but definitely bigger than the EPS.

Now that I too more time and looked closer at the picture you are right. I completely missed image of it mounted on a 1911. I think you are right. Bigger than the eps, but not a big as I first thought. Good eye sir.

Here's a comparison from the various product pages. Looks like it'll be about ACRO sized

Thanks for the research! Great information.

Looks like a street price of $665 for both. The RCR also looks like it has a weird mounting system from the picture of those screws..

Definitely unique mounting, cool that it still uses the rmr footprint.
