I'm in need of a rmr for my daily carry G19. Not sure of which one to get. I'm wanting one that can be seen easily in the sun light. Does the duel illuminated show in the sun good? I'm wanting a 8moa size dot. Anywhere good for price? Thanks

I’ve got the rm06 3.25 MOA. It’s the adjustable led one. I love it. Only complaint is I think I’d of rather got the 6 MOA version.

Make sure you get the type 2 as the type 1 wasnt designed for pistols. BUT, if you want the type 1 you can get the RMR 06 from cabelas for about $350. I got one on my 14.5'' rifle

    Type 2.
Big dot for up close, smaller dot for more accurate work.

Cool. So $500 the normal price for a rm07 type 2?

I would recommend the RM05 with the 9MOA dual illuminated amber dot. I have the RM08A, RM08G and have had 2 RM01 3.25MOA versions.

I dislike the dual illumination. I have a few different rmr, the fixed, adjustable, and dual illum, but none of the type 2. I'd say get a 6moa version, you'll be far 'accurate enough' for competition and plenty big to see fast.

On a carry gun, I would go with the RM07 which is the adjustable LED with a 6.5moa dot. The dual illuminated can wash out under white light and doesn’t get as bright in sunlight as the adjustable models in my experience. If you can find a good deal on the type 1s I would go with that and if you want to you can send it in to Trijicon and they will upgrade it for you for free.

Another tip I will give you is, take the battery the optic will ship with and toss it straight into ththe trash and replace it with a Duracell. I’ve done this on all of mine and have never had any flicker issues.

Can’t go wrong with an RMR (I have 2) or really anything made by Trijicon. I have the RM06s with the 3.25 dot on 2 g19s and couldn’t be happier with them.

Is the triangle instead of the dot available? Correct me if I'm wrong, it seems it'll work for speed and accuracy.

In the dual illuminated models yes. RM08A and RM08G are triangle in Amber and Green respectively. I have one of each on AR pistols in 5.56 and .300

Anyone try the new one with the green triangle?
I have a major astigmatism, so the red dots are all blurry.... Hoping maybe that one is more clear...

I talked to Trijicon Tech Support earlier this year. The "scoop" on the street was that the RMR Type 1 would "Shoot out" or have issues after 25K rounds or so. Before I purchased one for my CORE M&P, I wanted to find out. I also wanted to be able to Co-Witness and the RMR was the ONLY one that would. The Original Deltapoint would.....but then Leupold redesigned it and the Ver2 would not.
This is what Trijicon told me and I have done this.
The real issue was not "Shooting out", but in the battery connection. There are many "fixes" on the forums. There is also one company that makes a thin plate with a "bump" or raised circle on it. That is to push upward on the battery to improve the connection.
Trijicon will rework ANY Type 1 and put in the Type 2 battery compartment for FREE....for the life of the RMR....it is NOT an original purchaser item. I purchased the Type 1 from Cabela's, and it was on sale from their regular low price. I used Raise.com and got an additional 15% off. I sent the sight to Trijicon and they turned it around in about 3 weeks. The tech said that there were NO issues in the electronics on the Type 1. It was the design of the battery compartment and that it was, for them, an easy retrofit and that they had not had any issues with a Type 1 after the upgrade.
BTW, Cabela's purchased all the Type 1 inventory.....about 28,000 RMR Type 1's. They have totally sold out....so other folks scoffed up on the lower price. I think that I was in for around $300 after the first Cabela's discount and the Raise....and I sold the "Freebie" mount on Ebay....

Just passing this along....if you latch on to a "good" Type 1, then send it back and it will be as robust as the Type 2....just does not have some of the high techie features.

I have both the green and Amber triangle versions. If you want to hit the range with me one weekend you are welcome to test drive them.

I may take you up on that, after I rebuild our car's engine & make more progress on plugging the yard/future lawn.
I'd also like to try an AK.

I can't help with the AK as I don't have one. But I'm a Trijicon/AR junkie. I can bring several things to play with. Standing offer just PM when you're ready to plan something.

Nope. Might have been a bunch of ARs with an AK that belongs to NClivingbrit who was with me that day.

I have a couple RMRs so a few weeks ago I sent one in to see if they would really put in the type 2 battery connection. I just got it back the other day and it looks like they beefed up the connection but its definitely not a type 2 connection. Did they actually install the type 2 on yours @TomGCherry ?

I really had no frame of reference for the Type I versus Type II battery compartment. I bought it and never shot it and sent it in for the Battery upgrade. What I posted was exactly what I was told. It did have an erratic issue (which after I got the RMA for the second repair) turned out to be, I THINK, a loose screw. BUT, I decide to send it back in anyway and have it checked. I got a call about a week later. NEW one....which was the NEW Type II....and it had full warranty and was in the box exactly how it came from a dealer. So...If they beefed it....and the screw caused the issue, then their fix did not work....but I can't be sure....and for an engineer to say that....you KNOW that is blasphemy...

I WOULD shoot them....I never subjected mine to +P rounds, but full strength 9mm factory. I probably put 500 rounds down the pipe and it got erratic. ON for the first 3 rounds....OFF....and then ON again for a few more. It was NOT until I stared to pull it off that I noticed a slightly (it did NOT impact the POI) lack of "sufficient torque" on one of them...

IF you are NOT happy....call them. I can tell you that they really don't seem to have any "warranty period". I would do that and make a note or send them an email that IF the new battery compartment had issues, that you wanted them to "Fix and Resolve". The lady told me....typically....second time in....and you get a NEW one....and if it is an older model, you get the NEW model...that is THEIR policy.

Sorry I could not answer you question directly. I DID verify that I would NOT be receiving the "First Production Run" of the Type II as the screens had a poor glue job or maybe they switched the adhesive. She said that the one I would get was current and that they were dealing with problem and not to worry. On a follow-up. I bought a New (mounted but never fired) one for a buddy. I called and asked about the SN. I used the ploy it was on a dealers shelf....she said NOT to worry it was way newer than those. They have NEVER asked for proof of purchase or invoice or such. Really the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE that I have ever seen.

Thanks for the response. I really wasn't having any issues with it, but I figured if they would upgrade it to a type 2 connection then may as well send it in and see what happens. After getting it back and looking closely at the internals of a type 1 and 2, I'm not really sure if it is possible to put the same connections in, that's why I was curious to see if they actually did on yours. Trijicon's customer did seem to be excellent, I sent it in, had constant updates on the process and had it back in about 4 weeks.

I've been very impressed with their customer service. I've only had to use it twice and both times were amazing.

I sent in an old Reflex II to be relamped and the fiber optics replaced. I sent it in, fully expecting to pay about 200.00 for the service. About two weeks after mailing it I got a call telling me it would be shipping the next morning. I asked how much I owed and they said, "nothing, we covered it under warranty."

I was not the original purchaser and fully expected to pay, but they did it for free.

In the other instance I needed replacement screws for an RMR (because I lost mine) and they sent them gratis. Again, I called fully expecting to pay for a set of screws and shipping. They would not take my money.

As someone with a very pronounced astigmatism, the Dual Illum models work great. They do suck in very bright overhead light, and they wash out with bright WML use, but they have reduced astigmatism issues.

That all having been said... I have shot with DI and LED RMRs, Romeos, DPPs, and a Holosun... and the optic that gives me a perfect, smear-free dot with my glasses on is a Vortex Venom. It's blurry without my glasses, but so is everything else (can't even see iron sights).
