Does anyone have any experience with ACOGs using white light at night? I would imagine that the brilliance of a high powered light would over power the tritium glow. Are you essentially left with a contrasting black reticle?

It seems to me that the usefulness of the tritium is limited to low but not NO light conditions.

I’m not terribly interested in the LED ACOGs or other sighting systems.

You imagine correctly. It washes out and you have an etched reticle.

Is that pretty usable? I guess I could try it myself with any old scope.

Most of my experience night shooting is with an Eotech or a little bit with Aimpoints.
