Double standards at work here folks, no charges filed and he was not arrested.

Please ignore the idiot in the video that plays in the link below, you'll thank me later.

Police questioned a Transportation Security Administration agent whose job is to uncover contraband carried by travelers after his colleagues found he had a gun stashed in a backpack he used to carry his lunch to work at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, CBS Boston reported on Tuesday.

“There was an incident involving a TSA agent and a firearm at the checkpoint,” Paul Fulone, airport commander for the Londonderry, New Hampshire Police Department, told Newsweek. “There were no charges filed, and the incident is being handled internally by the TSA.”

Does anyone believe he brought the wrong pack to work? More likely he kept it having fantasy of Arab terrorists over running the airport and going John McClain on them.

Now if he worked at a Pizza Hut we would be applauding him.

Wutt? In English please.

Watching that clip, it always amazes me how many sparks are made by copper jacketed lead striking aluminum.

Or striking anything, really.

I mean, we make non-sparking tools out of brass for a reason, you know.

A lot of sparks going on here.

The guy goes through screening every day going to work, unless that hasn’t been happening, or he decided to test the system, or he’s a complete moron, then it must have been unintentional. I do doubt that he grabbed the wrong pack, more likely he used the pack to go shooting the day before and didn’t think about it. Same story as told by hundreds of other folks busted for the same thing. If he loses his job over it won’t the cost exceed the typical fine?

We have a TSA agent or two on the site, I wonder if they would be willing to say if there has been any “internal” communication on the matter?

I know 1 person who got stopped with one in his bag at RDU. They confiscated the gun and fined him but no court proceedings. The TSA needs to make a decision on how to handle these cases and be consistent with it.

Pretty sure the TSA agents bypass the metal detectors. Their uniform carries enough metal that they couldn't pass without setting them off. I'm still sticking to my theory.

I've said in other threads that I think guns in bags should be treated like other carry on contraband: "sir / madam, you need to either properly secure this in your checked baggage or return it to your vehicle." I think making it a throw the legal book at them while screaming hysterically is stupid.

What I find most objectionable is that it looks like this "agent" is going to get a pass, quietly while us mere subjects, er I mean citizens, are treated to a far worse standard.

One set of rules for the lowly citizen and one set for the public 'servant'. Typical. Rule of law is dead. Now we're just piling dirt on it.
Yup. As the saying goes, we don't have rule of law, we have law of rulers. Big difference.

I knew someone several years ago, Canadian citizen in the US, who accidentally (legit accident) carried a large straight blade knife in a carry-on at CLT... they scared the crap out of him (but no assault of any kind) in an interrogation room, but in the end he was given the option of returning the knife to his car, mailing it to his final destination or turning it over to TSA... He called a friend to come get it, security escorted him to the drop off area where he gave it to the friend, then he went about his flight, no charges, no further inconvenience...

I occasionally work at the airport but still have to go through normal security. Earlier this year I went through with a pocket knife. With absolutely no conflict at all I was offered to take it back to my car or turn it over to TSA... I complained politely that it's a tool, not a weapon, I'm at work, I'll be leaving in 15 minutes... The guy stuck it in his pocket and told me to see him on my way out... he returned the pocket knife without incidence...

While I understand there are rare cases that fall to the extremes now and then, a few of you guys carry on like it's happening every day, every time, to everyone. You are hyping up the media driven extremist paranoia. I really expected to encounter more rational minds here. Not sure why, but I guess this forum is no better than typical internet comment sections... sad...

I accidentally carried a loaded mag through TSA in CLT, the force was with me and I wasn’t stopped. Discarded off airport property at my destination.

I have more trouble traveling with the kids.
