Today was the first day of the Consolidation Phase (2nd course of treatment). Jerek’s MRD test from his bone marrow came back negative. This was the best news possible. It means he is in complete remission. The goal now is to stay in remission. He received 2 IV chemo drugs today as well as intrathecal chemo with a lumbar puncture.
He also started on chemo pills this evening. He has chemo 3 more days this week and will have it 4 days next week as well. He also has to get a lumbar puncture once a week for 4 weeks so today was the 1st of 4. Tomorrow he will be getting Rituxan again. They don’t expect him to react to it since he did well the last time he received it. He is tired and nauseous, but doing well overall. God has been very good to us.
