VA anti’s gain ground

Just because someone does not agree with you does not mean that they are attacking you.
I have no problems with disagreement.
However, your insurance post was not about disagreement. It was a falsehood regarding facts in an attempt to gin up hatred and contempt for the motorcycling community, including myself.
The cage driving community hates me plenty already, and frankly, doesn't need your help.
I won't derail the thread further. Our positions are quite clear.

I will end with this set of facts which contain no hatred toward you or your fellow 2 wheelers. LMAO

Because the people who pay for private insurance are picking up the extra cost when the neurosurgeon is picking pieces of road debris out of their brains because by not wearing a helmet an avg spill turned into a life changing brain injury. Anyone who has worked a reasonable length of time in a level 1 trauma center in a state without a helmet law will attest to the increased severity of head injuries. Lots of people who have spent their careers in ERs refer to motorcycle riders as "organ donors".

I am all for allowing people to forgo wearing a helmet but they also should be taking on the additional risk associated with that choice in the form of higher motorcycle and health insurance premiums to partial offset the higher risk.

As to the NRA they can pound sand. They have not been in the gun rights business for a long time. They have been in the self enrichment and and self dealing business instead. They have duped too much of the pro gun world into believing that they are effect while lining their pockets with money at the expense of peoples rights.

I guess you side with Bloomberg on sugary drinks and junk food? Obesity issues like diabetes and heart disease raises your premiums way more than any motorcycle rider does.

Trying not to continue the tread drift but. If you look at what I originally posted about motorcycle helmets it was in response to the question why do other drivers care. I answered the question with a response that is based in facts and personal experience. I then made it perfectly clear that I am all for letting people ride a motorcycle without a helmet but that if one chooses to exercise that "freedom" they should full accept and be responsible for their additional risk. That risk should not be shoved onto the rest of the public because they chose to exercise that freedom. Freedom is not free. It comes with risk and responsibility. "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." -Aristotle

I take the same stance on sugary drinks and junk food. I think it Bloomberg was wrong to try to ban them but I do not think we should ignore how the poor food and health choices of some people effect the overall cost of healthcare in this country. The same goes for alcohol and tobacco. They are all leading causes of preventable death and the choices individuals make effect the healthcare cost of everyone. People who live healthier lifestyles should pay less. People who do not smoke should pay less than people who do because the risk of getting and or dying from cancer is greatly increased by their choice to smoke. The same goes for food intake IMHO. So to answer your question I agree with Bloomberg that over consumption of junk calories leads to health problems but I disagree with his solution.

Just curious because I hear it so much, but how is riding a bike so liberating and freeing?

IDK? I guess it's something you have to try for yourself. Some people like it and some don't. And just like guns, there are different types within motorcycling. You have your 1%'ers to your weekend boulevard cruiser and everything in between. You also have folks who ride the snot out of their bikes and others who have low mileage garage queens. Just like some folks use their guns and others like having safe queens.
