I looked for a similar thread to this, didn't see anything. If it doesn't follow the rules, move it to where it does because I didn't see it.
Never heard of https://www.gibsonssports.com/ before, but they are legit; in the sense that they do actually exist and have product to sale. Decided to buy 3 cases of 5.56 from them on the 14th. Price was 474.50/ea with free shipping and no tax. This is often a deal breaker for me because shipping cases of ammo racks shipping cost up quickly. A week had went by, no update at all. Decided to give them a call on the 21st. They answered, I explained who I was and the nature of my call, and I got a reply from the gentleman on the other end stating "shipping a gun to someones house we usually don't do, they usually ship it here [to gibsons]."
...I did not order a gun.
I told them that, and said I have my order number right here in front of me, they wouldn't take it for some odd reason and just asked for my name. I gave it to them, they checked whatever database they're using and found what I ordered.
"Sorry Mr. Mcgavin, that still hasn't been shipped out, we got a little confused with the orders (...?) but it will be shipped out tomorrow." Great, no problem.
No email confirmation of tracking Friday or Saturday [They are open on both]. Ok, I'll call them again today.
Get on the phone, and they act surprised that I called back. Explained that I was assured it would be sent out Friday, but no tracking info still. He went to go check on it, and he said that they needed to charge $26/case to ship. No, I ordered specifically BECAUSE it was advertised free shipping. He says he needs to call his store manager and he'd call me back. We hang up, 15-20 minutes or so go by, he calls back, and says that I either need to pay [the shipping cost], or they'll refund my order. I told them to refund it, and neither of us will have to worry about this in the future because I wont be back.
I know it's not the biggest deal in the world, but when you advertise something as having/including [x[, the terms you set on your website for said product have changed, which would have prevented the original purchase, and all of this wasted time. It's shi**y to renege on the sale entirely because of YOUR screw up.
Main reason posting this is for other people to beware of what you see online. Even if it clear as day advertises something, from a "legitimate" place of business, it may not always be the case. I was anticipating that ammo, which I could have been looking elsewhere for the same thing to buy from a place that honors their pricing as advertised.
