Pard, it's kinda like Big Pharma...no money to made made in a cure...the money is in the treatment. Our justice system is F'd
Yeah, people can change, but if one has a violent repeated history...why let them out to do more harm till they, hopefully, show back up to court?
Ah, the eternal optimist.Shit. Looks like he tried to use an AR pistol. Hope they don't try to politicize it.
One condition of human nature is, once these people have committed a crime that they think they will get prison time for they feel that they can do whatever they want while they're free and the consequences won't be any worse. Our justice system is F'd

My wife told me yesterday that a woman who was visiting the place my wife works had 3, yes 3, ankle monitors.I'd like to see these felons on parole or on bond have GPS tracker attached to their ankle. Using current technology the officer(s) would know the guy in that back seat of the car is a violent felon before they start talking to him and take appropriate steps to reduce risk of getting killed.
Train more. Even if it's dry fire. I went to the range today for the first time in a year. I was still really good with the firearms I was already proficient with. Like riding a bike. The new stuff, not so much. You can never train enough, you can never anticipate what will happen, you can never trust another human, and you can never have enough ammo if you don't make the hits. I make poor hits when not under duress, so if stressed,I am certain that I would miss the majority of my aim points. I pray to never find out. I bet I am not the only person feeling this way.
