Nah, they are just liberal activists. They want all thoughts of guns gone from the American mindset.I hate YouTube for this. Why can't they just adopt a policy of "nothing illegal" and be done with it? They are like mom Karen "looking out" for her children. Can't let them see how to put a handguard on a gun, that would turn them into a mass shooter.
I believe their "angle" is that advertisers don't like guns on youtube. Of course, with the targeting of ads on youtube, it should be almost trivial to make sure things don't get advertised on channels they don't support.I hate YouTube for this. 'Their International Advertisers'.Nah, they are just liberal activists. They want all thoughts of guns gone from the American mindset.
Censorship is their greatest tool.
These advertisers did not want folks voting against their pumped up candidates.I believe their "angle" is that advertisers don't like guns on youtube. This. This is entirely their angle. If they don’t offer “ad friendly” content, they lose advertising dollars. They don’t want to make gun videos ad-free, that would eat away at the number of videos they can run ads on which means less revenue.I believe their "angle" is that advertisers don't like guns on youtube. I agree but you’re thinking of it backwards. They don’t care what you see or think. You’re the product, not the customer. They care what the advertisers think.YouTube’s policies are asinine, all Gun content = bad but they have no issue’s advertising drag queens, HIV and erectile dysfunction meds on videos geared towards children, it’s absolutely insane.

They may very well see that as grounds to delete the video if it took place in a banned state. The problem is that advertisers may or may not object to gun-related content, but the leftists running YouTube can claim they speak for advertisers when they try to push such content off of YouTube.
And I doubt the “if it’s legal, it’s OK” approach would work at YouTube. One content creator's video about the latest kerfuffle laid out this sequence: high-capacity mags are illegal in some states and YouTube prohibits videos that show how to install illegal items on guns, so any video showing a high-capacity magazine being "installed" in a gun could be prohibited.
They may very well see that as grounds to delete the video if it took place in a banned state.
Are you telling me that a video has already been deleted for having a 30 round mag? Aren't like...90% of gun videos deletable?I have seen a couple more videos discussing YouTube's extreme interpretation since my previous post. The premise is not that the video was made where an item in the video was illegal. Rather, YouTube contends an item (i.e. 30rd mag) that is illegal anywhere cannot be shown in a video being "installed" on a gun because the video can be viewed anywhere.
It’s specifically inserting the mag. Alternatively, simply having a mag larger than 30rd also violates their latest terms. Are you telling me that a video has already been deleted for having a 30 round mag? Aren't like...90% of gun videos deletable?
Ok, so inserting a 30-rd mag is not allowed? That still cuts out huge numbers of videos. It’s specifically inserting the mag. Alternatively, simply having a mag larger than 30rd also violates their latest terms.
He uploads to several platforms including the ones you mentioned.this guns and gear guy - does he operate on any other platform?
I know some 'alternatives' have come up like rumble or gab, but wasnt sure how many of the gun guys had moved over (vs having their videos deleted etc on YT).
I dont think YouTube is going anywhere, it's so powerful that people will be unwilling to make a switch, too much content.
And Im not sure about monetization from the alternatives, I know some DIDNT offer anything, and that's probably what keeps these guys from ditching.
Agreed. It leaves things WIDE open for YT to delete videos or delete channels all together. They’ll also go back 5yr+ and give you a strike on an old video that was OK then but now is against terms. It’s a really stupid system, as you can imagine.Ok, so inserting a 30-rd mag is not allowed? That still cuts out huge numbers of videos.

Isn’t he ( Mr Guns and Gear) from NC? So it ain’t banned hereThey may very well see that as grounds to delete the video if it took place in a banned state.
Yes he's from NC. I was just saying that "illegal" is in the context of state.Isn’t he ( Mr Guns and Gear) from NC? So it ain’t banned here
