I’ve been going through a bunch of my accumulated parts bins, bags, drawers lately trying to clean out stuff I’m absolutely not going to use. While doing so, I found a nice stash of 22LR I had forgotten about. Got excited until I looked in the gun safe and remembered I only had 22 bolt actions in it. I own one other 10/22, but my father laid claimed to that and it resides at his residence.

Listed a G26 I had gotten in trade on a whim, got a great offer from @easternnc4me for it for a BNIB Ruger 10/22 takedown and undisclosed other. This thing is the bees knees! I absolutely am obsessed with how quickly I can disassemble and stow away.

Me being me, I can’t leave my stuff alone. First thing to go is the the bolt release, I hate having to monkey around with the factory one. volquartsen one in the mail to replace it and make it more better

Then I decided I wanted a different changing handle and had a Kidd one previously and loved it. Got to looking and noticed they were on sale, went ahead and ordered that along with recoil buffer.

Found a bushnell scope with rings on AR15.com for $30 shipped so going to rock that until I can get a dedicated red dot.

Went to Fuquay Gun and grabbed a BX25 magazine, I’ve got more fun mags but they are Butlers and I can’t remember how well they function cause I never use them.

I would love to replace the stock with the Magpul Backpack Takedown, or even the hunter stock but can’t find either locally. Online will have to wait. Did find one hunter one near my parents and sent it to them for a hopeful Christmas present.

now just waiting for everything to get here

then I decided to go by my local gun shop, thinking maybe I’d find a Magpul stock. Of course they were out, but I instead found a Ruger Wrangler for $189. I was weak...

I was good on 22s too. Until this year. I think I’ve added 6-8 more 22 rifles and spent enough money doing it to not admit to a number.

"Well I’m good on 22s now"

Here, lemme fix that for ya:

"Well, I'm good on 22s, for now." 🙂
Did I mention I also have a weakness for any 22 sub $100 ;)

I love a good 22, especially a 10/22. I’m already looking at buying another hopefully after Christmas. But I miss being able to walk into Fuquay Gun and getting a good used one for sub $180

Are you going for the nylon bolt stop mod on the 10/22? I think I am gonna do the bolt release too. Wish I could find something in a last shot hold open for it.

Got my Kidd and Volquartsen parts in

Volquartsen automatic bolt release-stainless
Kidd charging handle
Kidd bolt buffer

Also have a Bushnell 3x9 scope ready to be put on it as soon as my scope mounts arrive

I’m planning on just using scope on this but may eventually switch over to a red dot

Or just buy another one and red dot tha
