Happy 4th! Picking up an Acog and wondering what y’all recommend for inland wooded areas? I’m leaning towards red given the more dense brush (and I’m used to them), but is there a reticle that lends itself better? I’m leaning towards the crosshair as I’ll run a dot on top for less than 100 yds, but also giving the horseshoe consideration.

If you can believe, no stores witching 45 mins have anything but the red chevron so not really able to check them out.

As far as model, will be going LED, and leaning TA110 vs TA02 - think the eye relief will be worth it over the 4x, even though I do tend to shoot nose to handle and have shorter lop.

Thanks guys.

No issues with red Chevron TA31 or the TA01 I used to have. I prefer red over green personally but I also have taped up the majority of my fiber optic on the TA31 to where maybe 1/8th of an inch of the fiber is exposed and that's honestly enough for me. Since youre potentially going Led thats a non-issue though. I will say, that if I was buying a new one, I'd get the crosshair over the Chevron, I just don't think chevrons are all that.

If you go 4x I find the Kram spacer to be a huge upgrade for general usability/comfort.

Just curious, what makes you want to go Led? Aside from a more optimal top dot placement, I'm not sure that I understand the allure to these.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve heard about the Kram, but still worry a bit about eye relief in situations where shooting position may be wonky.

Regarding the LED - I’ve read that there are illumination issues shooting from dark to light and of the blooming issues in general. It would be nice to not have ti worry about the tape and just dial to the brightness needed. Or have an easy way to shut off illumination altogether. Also, as I want to mount an rmr on top, the led models have a forward mount position.
