Can you get more? If not, let me know. Glad you like it. Didn’t open mine last night.....@Midliferally , I am in love. It's all I heard it would be.
If you are not a big sour mash fan this is not for you.
Goes real good with Tammy Wynette! LOL!

That one didn't last as long as I had hoped it would!
Fred said he won't scared of the Colonel either. Guess I'll have to find some more.

That michters bourbon is batched this year, it has a bit more bite than the 2018 which I tended to prefer. Might be something to try and find if you see it floating around. Not really worth any type of premium, just an interesting flavor profile between years.View attachment 137727
Recent gifts and purchases. The wax was messed up on the Blantons but it was a gift. It is the :n stopper which I didn’t have and hasn’t seemed to have leaked. Yay! Cheers!
Have not had a drink since last Wednesday and wanted something different. Bought this a couple months ago and figured I would try sipping on it. I will give it 2 thumps up and that is coming from a bourbon drinker.

View attachment 138436 Had a Monday today. Being a man of your word isn’t always the easiest way, but it’s the only way.
Last time I was at the liquor store, I was told by someone I trust that this juice was almost indistinguishable from Blantons in a blind taste test. So I felt I needed to research this... taking one for the team...... Cheers!
The 1820 is delish!!!@Midliferally , I am in love. It's all I heard it would be.

Tried it last week at an Uncle Nearest testingCan I ask what state you found the 1820 in? I really wanna try some of that. I hear good things.
Tried this “extensively “ this weekend. My son and I both agree, we need more bottles. Cheers!@Midliferally , I am in love. It's all I heard it would be.

I love it...one of my favorite Ryes actually.View attachment 140967
Anybody had this? I was told by a bourbon club member that this stuff was “slap your momma good”. I told him that i’d never had a rye that I cared much for. He said to try this Pikeville. Still not feeling it. Wouldn’t walk away from a pour if I was given one but not really my cup of tea. Do I give up on ryes? Anyone had one that might convert me?
Sorry for the ramble.
PS What would you compare this to? I’ve never had anything quite like it.
Maybe around bottle 3 or 4 I'll have a better explanation. Worthy pursuit regardless!
Let me speak on Uncle Nearest at least one more time by drawing a comparison with one of the other "new" ones that I've sampled lately.
Several of us (on multiple platforms) have been conversing here lately about the George Dickel Bib.
I like it.
Some of my friends do as well, some don't.
The minute I FINISHED my FIRST SWALLOW, I knew that I liked it.
It was not earth shattering, and as I was processing my second sip, while it was still in my mouth, I decided I could certainly understand why some folks would not like it. It's complicated and has a lot of clearly, maybe even severely defined stages. If you don't like any one stage or flavor that jumps out it would kill the whole thing for you. So if you don't like the George Dickel Bottled in Bond, I ain't mad at you.
From the very FIRST SECOND Uncle Nearest HIT MY TONGUE I knew I was in love. And the rest of that first sip did not disappoint. Nor did the first half of the bottle that I killed in one sitting. (If I have any one criticism of Uncle Nearest is that it drinks entirely too easy for a 100 proof, LOL)
Not complicated at all, maybe slightly nuanced. Maybe so nuanced that a big bullheaded redneck like me is not able to separate anything out to point to and yell "See, this is why I like Uncle Nearest because of this right here!".
But unlike the Dickle Bottled in Bond, if you don't like Uncle Nearest, I ain't gonna be leaning on your palate any for suggestions. And I question whether we would even wanna hang out together.
I don't use this phrase lightly, and I don't think I have ever used it on a gun forum and most of you certainly know why. But for me, Uncle Nearest is a "game changer". My horizon has now been expanded.
