Recently traded the Ram in on a Tacoma. Ram was more truck than I needed.
Yesterday I was checking fluids etc under the hood and found where Wrens had started building a nest. Cleaned that out naturally, and went today to make sure they hadn’t started over. No nests but something shiny caught my eye.
I may be the first person in HISTORY to actually FIND a 10mm socket.

Definitely need to keep this truck. It’s good luck.
Oh, the birds may not have started nesting again but they did crap all over the passenger side door and window

Pics of the truck before anyone asks.

Why is it we all watch a 10mm socket slide into the engine compartment never to be found? The truck will look good on you.

Worked on the Zero turn, front tires, other
half decided to mow the fenced in area where
the pups run / play, she brings it around to the garage when she's "done mowing" says I noticed the front tire was like it was gonna come off, so it was flat, loose, could spin the tire on the rim, no bead, so fixed both front tires, saved bout $125, didnt say a word the whole time, shake my head or nothing, cause we all know what happens...I'll leave it go at that...have a great day

Oh and she must of run through every "dog patty" out there

My grandson was jealous of his older sister, learning how to make stuff in my shop. He wanted to know when he could make something. I asked what he wanted to make... no hesitation, "I want to make a gun"
I got all the programming done this weekend on the CNC. He will learn to load his material and tools, and hit the green button. I will also have him doing the sanding, gluing, screw twisting and finishing.

And now I have two other grandsons wanting one. We may have a party

Sounds like some good kids and some great bonding time. Also what a badass slingshot in pic.

Once the correct limited slip unit gets here Tuesday ( hopefully) time to give the c10 some rubber burning ability. Out with the pegleg 2.73 and in with the 3.42 limited slip.kinda more excited about seeing how the backyard rebuild on the 454 turns out. More so than my 440 Duster.
We have the radiator installed. After the rear end it is time for some ball joints and upper control arm bushings.
Then sort out or replace the qjet and see how long the transmission lives.

Cleaned it, rinsed it, built ramps to allow me to get my one car in the garage. Is new place, rented sight unseen, so didn't know about the step step entry to garage. Tried getting my car in but it scraped bottom so went and got some 2x10's and made some ramps! Lol... What a pain, but got it done!

And oh, installed a security cam in there too...

Gonna be doing brakes, oil change and plugs tomorrow on my aunts 84 Monte Carlo. Was out today gathering everything needed. Sumbitch it costed 3 times what I was expecting to pay. This whole bidenflation has to stop. I'm no mechanic by a long shot but I'm glad I know enough to atleast do my own maintenance to save some money.

I work at an Autozone and we are doing price hikes every week. Supposedly inflation is only at 7 % but I've found out that its adjusted weekly if not more on car parts from China and has been for the past 3 years. Folks complain all the time but there is nothing I can do.

Replaced the carburetor in my circa 1985 Craftsman weed trimmer, I swapped the throttle shaft with the original so the linkage would work properly.
This model had attachments as options, I have the edger and it works great.

Just finished front brakes, oil change and spark plugs on my aunts 84 Monte Carlo. Once car was up and wheels off I found out caliper bolts was 3/8" hex heads. I had a regular hex head wrench but no socket so I could rachet bolts loose. Trying to just use the wrench I had and tapping it was just rounding off the wrench. Time to adjust on the fly and make the tool I needed. Cut about an inch off of wrench and down and dirty welded it in a 3/8" socket. Problem solved. The oil change and new plugs was uneventful and went smoothly🤞 here's a pic of my aunts old car. It's no show piece but to be all original other then regular maintenance and a radiator change few years ago it's in pretty good shape.20240427_161232.jpgand here's my hex head socket I had to throw together on the fly. Please look over my very quick welding/tacking job I promise I can do better when I take my time.20240427_160358.jpg

I got a good start on this this weekend
2210b.jpg
The receiver is done minus polishing/engraving/anodizing
After finishing the barrel, I did all the programming for inletting a stock. I did a test run on a hunk of 2x4. I may keep it :p
My plan is to shoot it a bit as a pistol, make sure it runs 100%, then SBR it and do a form 1 suppressor

It officially went bang today. Just a couple mags, factory and ancient 30 round junk. Zero malfunctions.

Every year when it’s time to start cutting grass I play a game with my mower where it randomly picks something that I need to repair or replace. It’s a hoot. This year it was fuel lines. They were dry rotted and it was sucking in air near the filter. I did the plugs while I was at it. So, $30 in parts and a little bit of time and I had it running smoothly again.

I mowed for about an hour and the belt for my hydro pumps gave out. It was dry rotted too. So sad. I get to replace that today. I may clear out room in my shipping container so I can store it out of the weather.

Too much, not enough.

Jacked up the rear of the Land Cruiser, took off the rear wheels - getting some Falkens on it tomorrow. Rear tires were bald and cracking bad - from 2001!
I got to be honest - this 4x4 stuff is way different from my cars, the amount of suspension sag when jacked up etc... just more difficult or different.
Whatever. I'll sort it out, I'll make it work.

I vacuumed the Rav4, wiped down all surfaces. Should have hosed it off, but, honestly, I was tired.

Jack up the diff and put the stand under the axle so you don’t have to deal with the suspension.
Put the jackstands under the frame
Wont hurt anything by having it under the axles? All that weight on two small points?
Also, the diff is offset, so when you jack from there the passenger's side come up quick, driver's not as much

Road tractors are jacked up by the axle. Some weigh 30k +

Replaced the deck belt on the Z425 zero turn. Noticed a small drop of gas on the bottom of the carb bowl. Also noticed the fuel shutoff solenoid was not clicking when the key was turned but it would start and run fine. Figured the solenoid was stuck open causing the fuel to overflow. Replaced it….. and it still leaks (fuel solenoid clicks now). Took the back cage off and degreased everything. After it runs for a little and you cut it off you can see a tiny amount of gas leaking from the top of the bowl. Either the bowl gasket or needle I guess. Will replace them later.
