Looks like willow oak. Sometimes incorrectly referred to as "pin oak" which is another tree entirely.
Does it produce really small acorns?
@Michael458 ?????????????????????????????????
My folks planted four of them in 1965. They were pretty darn huge by 1995 when dad passed. Mom tried to manage those leaves (that are like raking sand) for about three years and finally sold the house.In the fall when you're trying to get the leaves up, you'll wish you had killed it. They're messy.
Lawn sweeper works very good for thisThey are the reason I bought the biggest backpack blower Stihl makes. It's like blowing lint out of velcro in my yard in about 2-3 months.
Problem with those type leaves is you can only get half of them. They are so small and light that they keep blowing out in front of you before the mowing deck gets to them.Y'all rake? Lol! That's what lawnmowers with mulching blades are for.
And dig down into the grass. I hate ‘em.Problem with those type leaves is you can only get half of them. They are so small and light that they keep blowing out in front of you before the mowing deck gets to them.
Pin oak has the more oak-shaped leaves, that’s a willow oak.
