What was your wedding song?

My mother in-law took over and it was her big wedding event. I have no idea the cost but I would guess well over 25k probably closer to 40-50k. They even did the rehearsal dinner when they found out that I just wanted to order pizza and talk to everyone. You would just have to understand these folks.

Back to the original question I like this song by both Garth and adele. I like the Garth version a little better but they are both very well done.

I had no idea until recently that that song was written by Bob Dylan.

I wrote and recorded the song song Shari walked in on, and our first dance was “Forever and Ever, Amen” by Randy Travis.

You should hear “From The Ground Up” by Dan + Shay…….

Amazing song…..
We’ve learned it for a wedding we’re playing in June.

Sleepers Awake / BWV 645 - J.S. Bach Solo Classical Guitar

This is the song of choice for my forever relationship.

For my first marriage/wedding this 👇 would have been a more appropriate choice.

TRAIN TRAIN by Blackfoot

Lyrics

Oh, here it come
Well, train, train, take me on out of this town
Train, train, Lord, take me on out of this town
Well, that woman I'm in love with, Lord, she's Memphis bound
Well, leavin' here, I'm just a raggedy hobo
Lord, I'm leaving here, I'm just a raggedy hobo
Well, that woman I'm in love with, Lord, she's got to go
Well, goodbye pretty mama, get yourself a money man
Goodbye, pretty mama, Lord, get yourself a money man
You take that midnight train to Memphis
Lord, leave if you can
Oh, take that midnight train to Memphis
Lord, leave if you can
Oh, take that train, baby

While not their 'first dance' song, my wife did a wedding for a couple who had their 'walk out music' (after they did all their pictures) be Hybrid Moments by The Misfits.
For those that dont know
a) the H and M in my handle are for those two words
b) the lyrics 'rape your face' are in the song

Just thought of that and thought you'd smile at that one (knowing your choice of music)

I saw the couple - Im pretty sure it was the guy's idea.
So romantic!

I had to ask my wife. It was "Time In A Bottle". 1975 How am I suppose to remember that far back.

I hardly remember my wedding. I’m not sure how you guys remember what music was playing at yours.

I hardly remember my wedding. I’m not sure how you guys remember what music was playing at yours.
My brother filmed it on super 8mm and then turned it into a CD decades later. My wife drags it out now and again to remind us that we were young once.

My ex chose the entry music (some opera piece wherein a child is abducted by the king of the elves) and I chose the exit music, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly.

I was married 5 days after 9/11/2001 on a Sunday.

I spent that week of 9/11/2001 on lock-down until Saturday night the 15th, and deployed within 60 days of my marriage to the first rotation in Afcrackastain.

So that was the song I think of as my marriage song. LOL

Went to a friend's wedding where someone in the wedding party dedicated Alanis Morissete's You Outa Know to the groom.

This was after we had gone through 4 bottles of tequila and showing the bar tender how to mix drinks the right way. A very strange event. But one friend moved his female friend up to girl friend that weekend and is now married to her for 20+ years.

"I don't wanna miss a thing"

The country version was played before here comes the bride.

Then the Aerosmith version was played as we left (which caused a minor scandal in the small Baptist church we were married in)

A tick over 3 months and my day comes, we've got to pick a first dance song and soon, as we're going to have live music so they have to know to learn it
Leaning towards something by Brian Fallon. Actually, I know it will be something of his.

Was just curious what you folks chose
Crown Him With Many Crowns (come on, what did you expect?)

more words.
OK, here ya go. I wish for you the joy that my wife has brought to me for 43 years now. Marriage more than anything else, brings out the truth of what is in your own heart and that of your spouse. What you do with that uncovering leads to happiness or bitterness. I wish the former for you. Congrats.

Oddly enough my wife isn’t a fan of “hard rock” but she immediately latched onto this song the first time she heard it and it became “our” song according to her, which is fine.

I listen to soft rock to death metal and this CD kinda shocked her because it’s so mellow lol.

This was not my song but if I was getting married today they might be.
