What's your favorite 380?

Dang, y'all almost talked me into buying an LCP MAX in .380 today... I saw this thread earlier. Then, I went in gun.deals and saw that I could order a black one for around $325 or a special edition in fde for $375, plus tax and shipping...

I decided to go to Costco to pick up some meat to smoke for dinner tonight. I saw an Academy Sports, on the way, and said to myself, "Of they have an LCP MAX at a decent price, I'll buy one..

I walked into Academy, with and LCP2 in my pocket, so I already know that I like the gun. I'm thinking, "This gun will be just as good but with double the ammo."

They had the fde version, in stock, so I was excited... Then, I saw the price... $439 plus tax. $65 more than the online sellers.

I held it. I liked it. I wasn't even bothered by the slop in the slide/ frame...

But, I was too cheap to pay the extra $65.

I'll get one online, eventually...

Another Bersa Thunder vote. I had some issues early on with galling on the slide, but a quick file deburring and it’s been flawless since. Light, accurate, great trigger for such an inexpensive gun.

Has that kimber been reliable for you? I like how it's more rounded than the 238

I've only ever had one .380. Feg APK model. It's heavy, got fixed virtually nonexistent nub sights, and the double action pull exceeds measurement o my trigger scale. It's worth more to me as a gun than it's trade value.

Friend has a P238. It's a neat little gun. That newer LCP Max looks decent.

It was like new and a only had one failure to eject when I first got it ,cleaned and oiled it No more malfunctions in 300 rounds I also had a p238 that I had about 500 flawless rounds fired. Sold it after I got the Kimber

Hard to pick just one…for very concealed carry it would be the s&w bodyguard .380, but I love my surplus Beretta 84 and the cz83 (still looking for that one) as well…though if you go that big there are lots of 9’s that carry better. Then there’s the Colt 1908 that’s somewhere on the bucket list as well….too many good options

Y'all might boo me for this, but the missus' PK-380 is a nice shooting gun, but at almost the size of a G19, it should be. Great ergos for women & those with smaller hands, but still comfortable in my big ol' mitts.

I bought her a P238, one of the "nickel plated sissy gun" versions for Valentine's Day a few years ago. She had both thumb joints replaced not long after & we have yet to shoot it. Need to fix that, I reckon.

I think the Beretta 84fs is the best ever, but the Ruger LCP Max is the best balance between capacity, size, weight, reliability and shootability ever. Great capacity, solid sights, high quality, reliable, ok trigger...
For me, it's the cats meow right now.
I got the LCP Max shortly after they were introduced and its been my favorite OWB carry gun ever since. Sometimes I carry the LCP 22cal as it fits the same holster from Braids.

I still like the orginal more. I don't want to be shoving anything other than double action into soft pocket holsters
I completely agree about the soft holsters. I carry mine in a Kydex pocket holster. Works great!
It looks like a cellphone in your pocket if you’re sitting. If standing, it is unnoticeable.7882FA11-4C2B-4530-9144-08CA55361806.png

So you gotta tie that thing down to something I assume? Current oldschool lcp i feel safe with soft holsters, maybe I'm an idiot? Not just a genral idiot but a specific one

No need to tie it down, although that is an idea for super fast presentations! I always thought the grommet was just for joining the holster together. (I guess I’m the idiot, lol) The “hook” thing on the bottom of the holster is slightly)very slightly) offset and catches on the fabric of your pocket when you draw.
There’s also a small flared area at the top edge that I use my thumb to help separate the pistol and holster.
It clicks out when the trigger guard clears.

Curious what .380 is the favorite to actually SHOOT? My PPK was obnoxious and the LCP if it works is Very unpleasant.
My G42 is a joy to shoot and I have shot the P365 380 which is also nice.

The Bersa, for me. Nice trigger, accurate, and shoots like a PPK with better ergonomics and no fear of slide bite.

Just to shoot? That would be a SIG P250 Compact 380, which is a Subcompact slide on a P250/P320 Compact grip frame (15-round capacity) with the dust cover cut at the factory to match the slide length.

Shooting .380s in a P250 feels more like shooting .22LRs.

I would LOVE a P365 in .380... but they're not reliable. 9mm is a bit much for the P365 for my soft weak hands.
