What's your guilty pleasure rimfire?

You could always sell it to me... jus' sayin'!

Like i said you'd be the first person I call! It came with a one-off el paso weaver scope with a limited run bug reticle that Im pretty sure I sold to a young fella that looked just like you!

My favorite guilty pleasure .22 to shoot is my Browning Buckmark Contour 7.25 inch pistol. The thing is so damn dependable and crazy accurate, takes whatever ammo I feed through it without problems. Whenever I take a new shooter to the range for the first time, it's what I use with them initially. I've probably got 20 magazines for this and load them all up when I go out to shoot.

I've got a few other fav 22's. My very first firearm I inherited from my grandfather; a tubular magazine Sears Model 3T 2732390 (basically a Winchester 190). I remember he used to keep it in the closet of his bedroom; I got in the early 1980's and it's seen a whole lot of rounds through it since.

Another favorite 22 that I inherited (this one from my uncle) is one I don't see mentioned all that often, a Remington Fieldmaster Model 572 pump - in fact I'd never seen another one until I randomly ran across a 2009 video on Youtube that hickok45 put up about one he bought for his son. I asked my uncle about it before he passed and why he got a pump 22 spec'd like that; "I just always liked and wanted a pump action, so I special ordered it". Fair enough.

I also like Ruger 10/22s. a couple of mine below with a Model 10-22 Carbine model 01116 and a SR-22.

Reading this thread, I think my next 22 when I get back to shooting is going to be a CZ.

What's your guilty pleasure rimfire? The one that you know what they go for so every time you enter a shop or show you just happen to have the right amount of "mad money" with you. Because if you see one its a pretty good bet that its leaving with you?

Me, I'm a sucker for Remington 581's....first rifle I ever had and learned to shoot with. Still have it 25+ years later.

***disclaimer - you don't have to post specific collection sizes, photos or values. Just curious to hear who else has this problem.
And he smiled anWell, my friend’s father had a 1930’s vintage Colt ACE. Commercial .22 model. I wanted that gun from the day I first shot it. I was 13. I told my friend’s dad I wanted to buy it someday, He smiled and said “maybe someday”. Well that gun was always in the back of my mind and when he passed in 1987 I hoped his son would sell it but didn't feel comfortable asking to buy it.
A lot of years went by (much to quickly) and my friend and I took different paths and life got in the way of friendships for a while. Jump ahead to 2017 and my friend shows up with a bag. Inside was a WW-II bring back PO8 with matching holster and The ACE. He said it was time for them to have a new home he asked me what I thought they were worth and I gave him a fair opinion ( still kicking myself over that move).
Both pistols are in my collection where they will stay till my son gets them. Hopefully he’ll move them on the same way. It was a 50 year wait and it wasn’t cheap but it was worth EVERY PENNY. As long as my wife doesn’t find out what they cost ! Thanks for reading.

I have a few different ones model 60, some 10/22s but my favorite is the cZ-452 .17hmr now that is a fun gun. excellent for taking out crows, wild cats and rodents.

I too am a "22holic". Trying to get a deal going on an old western auto 22. The guy is not sure he wants to keep it or not. The outside of the barrel is in rough shape, but that does not bother me.

I mostly like the old trainers.
My first rifle was a Western Auto (Marlin/Glenfield) that I still have today. She’s no purty, the sights are a might off and she jambs quite a bit, but she’s the rifle that I’d pick up and run out of the house with because my dad gave her to me and THAT can’t be replaced! I have a sweet Ruger 10/22 Performance Center rifle, she’s sweet! I’ve also got several CZ’s that I love, one is a CZ 455, .22 mag in a Mannlicher stock that is a beautiful piece of wood.

Wanted a gallery gun forever; Henrys have awful stiff pump actions [love my lever tho.]
When I found an ad at local gun club I jumped all over a used Remington Fieldmaster - what a beaut.

I absolutely love outshooting folks on reactive targets with my lever/pump using peeps vs their semiautos and red dots. I can almost keep up with [accurate] rate of fire and . . . well, I'm just a better shot !!! 😁 Plus no capacity handicap up to a 15 rd magazine - just a bit longer to reload . . . and far fewer jams.

One of these days I'm going to pick up a Model 41. I was close this weekend. One day?
Shot Bullseye with one for 23 years now; have a second setup for pins etc. Recently sold my NIB spare and extra bbl as the kids are grown and don't shoot. Still have both length bbls for the 2 I have left with irons and optics choices on each. Quite possibly the best target pistol ever built in America.

I always look for a Sig 522, I have one but would love to have a couple more. Only semi-auto that I've witnessed will reliably cycle cci quiet. It cycles everything and is very accurate. Followed by a Remington 550-1 that are fun great shooters. I also have some 10-22's for truck/tractor/atv guns.

My guilty pleasure rimfire: Smith and Wesson pre-34, .22/32, Model 34, 43, 63, pre-lock 317s.............. oh, heck, you get the point. Might as well ad Winchester pumps to this list!

I have an early 43 and need a K-22 17 or 18. The 43 with Super Colibri is like shooting a cap gun.

That is one reason (not the primary reason to be sure!) that I just love .22 revolvers! Toss a few hand fulls of Colibri in your pocket and its easy to have a great deal of fun with no noise. Love it!

P.S. - If that 43 ever gets in your way and you get tired of stepping over it, moving it out of the way to get to something else, etc....... ;)

I have a few Marlin 60s because I enjoy them and there always seems to be one around that needs rescuing and getting to run smoothly again. There are a few oddball ones around and I really like my CZs. I guess I'm the oddball here myself as I have an affinity for Remington Nylons.
When I was in my teens, a really long time ago, I was in lust with the nylon 66&77s( I think that is what they were called) that was a long time ago. I guess I need to start collecting some more 22s. I love to shoot them but fortunately I have a couple extra rounds laying around.

When I was in the Boy Scouts back in the early 80's, I took the Rifle Shooting merit badge course at summer camp at Camp Bonner down by Blounts Creek. They had a dozen rifles for us to use. The course was taught by a Marine and all of the rifles were either black or brown Nylon 66s.

Marlin model 80DL with the factory peep I bought for $50 over 30 years ago from a coworker works for me for accurate plinking fun.

For more serious ventures I love the S&W Model 41 and mag sharing cousin, the Model 622. Always wanted a 2206 stainless but never found one when I had money.

I always keep an eye out for a CZ 453 Varmint (not 452 or 455). Saw one at the range one day and have looked ever since for one.

Hope no one minds a thread revival.

Not sure if this counts since I pretty much forgot having it and am actually not sure if I've ever shot it. One thing I do know, I'm glad I bought it........whenever the heck that was!
