pictures online don’t really do it justice, and I’d hate to shell out $4,000 to be unhappy with something.

And I’m still not sure why so much at TNVC is limited to .mil :(

One person I know says you won’t be happy without gen-4 stuff, another says cheap $300 stuff is good, etc. My natural leaning is toward the higher dollar stuff.

Was looking at this, but am not sure.

Is there ever a late night meetup here where I can look thru various pairs & see what is what?

If I was set on a WP pvs14 I’d buy this
https://nvisionoptics.com/product/pvs-14-monocular-unfilmed-l-3-iit-zone-3-blemish/

If I was going to buy a GP pvs14 I’d likely buy this https://www.jrhenterprises.com/PVS14-High-Performance-HP-Pinnacle-Autogated-Night-Vision-PVS14.htm

I’ve had two pvs14’s both were Omni 8 GP gen three units, one was an ITT the other was a l3 from tnvc. I have since sold Both as they do nothing but collect dust. I am not much of a fan of TNVC anymore.

Just some recommendations:
Helmet: Team Wendy makes the best bump

Aiming devices: The Russian perst lasers are the cats ass and are light Sabre’s compared to anything American. I recommend the perst 4 or 3. The three has a built illumination, you would need a separate Illuminator with the perst 4 as its only a laser.

Mount for helmet: I’d recommend a wilcox g11 at the very least. You will likely need a counter weight pouch as well.

OP, did you ever make the leap?

I've got a Gen3 PVS14 filmless, but not white phosphor. I've had it for about 3 years, and it works pretty dang
well.

Aiming:running Steiner DBAL i2, and have a Steiner OTAL on the way
Illumination: Running Inforce WML Gen2 white/IR
Headgear: Crye nightcap w/Princeton tec PRO MPLS ir
