Who's holding out for a Holosun EPS?

Looks like a mini-509t with the "K" footprint and 2MOA dot.

I avoided getting a 407k and was mainly considering the Shield RMSc...but this makes me think I'll wait a little longer.

The one thing this is missing is the notch cut the 407k has going for it.

Did you see...

China can suck monkey butt cheeks.
I understand the aversion towards the Chinesium optics, but unfortunately the American made companies just haven't kept up with the demands of the civilian market. Options are pretty poor when it comes to pistol RDS availability for smaller weapons - For something like the SIG P365 or Glock 48, you sacrifice quite a bit going with RMRcc - not only do you have the headache of dealing with mounting plates that don't match up well with height, Trijicon doesn't even provide the proper screws - additionally, they require dismounting to install batteries and don't have auto brightness features. For larger-ish pistols you're pretty limited as well. It took Aimpoint a long time to revamp the abysmal battery life of the ACRO from P-1 to P-2, and good luck finding one. - Leupold DPP is huge, and the RMR has the same issues as the RMRcc.

Yes, I've seen the SCS, but that's specifically for the Glock MOS - the EPS is designed for the K footprint.

The EPS being enclosed seems like a better solution for a carry gun. No more lint collecting on the backside of the open lens. I haven't bought in to the compact carry optic market or a compatible pistol yet as I've been waiting for a solution like this. I've also been waiting for HK to make a 365 competitor...the plans are floating about out there.

I would instantly buy the HK if they offered something with ambi controls. I don't know of any compacts with them, with the exception of Glock 19-sized compacts.

The VP9sk and P30sk are somewhere between the G19 and the G26, no? Just like the VP9 and P30 are between the G19 and G17 in size. Anyway, the design patent was filed and granted last year about this time for something smaller.

There are 2 EPS models: EPS (full size) & EPS Carry (compact/K). The EPS Carry has the rear sight notch.

And to answer your question, yes, I’ve held off on getting a 508T because this EPS looks very promising. I did just buy a 507k for my new ccw but will swap it for an EPS Carry if it’s that much better.

Yup, I bought a P365X back in January and Ive been holding out for the EPS carry.

I got impatient and just went with 509T X-2s. I'll probably buy some EPSs eventually since I have more optics ready pistols than optics.

I completely missed that. Glad you both pointed it out. Very cool! Has there been an official ETA announced? I just picked up my XL yesterday. Just trying to decide on a holster right now...looks like I'll join the EPS Carry waiting club.

Why does the "full size" still say it has the "K" footprint?

I hate the size of the G26, and haven't fiddled with a P30sk. When I say "compact" I'm mainly referring to something like the P365X(L) - it would be perfect for me if it had an ambi slide release...IDK why more pistols haven't adopted fully ambidextrous controls like FN puts out.

If it weren't for the capacity of the P365, I probably wouldn't have gotten one. My PPS M2 is a great shooter, but 8rds in 2022 just doesn't cut it and I find it annoying I have to flick my wrist during mag changes as the mags don't really drop free.

I was wondering the same. Unfortunately my full-size guns that are optic cut are RMR footprint. On one hand, I like that they’re standardizing footprint but I personally wish the industry would go K for micro compacts and RMR for everything else.

I tend to think it might be a misprint. It wouldn't make sense for them to make one for full size and one for compact carry and make them both the same footprint. I'm betting that standard EPS is RMR footprint.

It is, the EPS uses a RMR footprint unlike the 509 with requires a RMR adapter plate, and the EPS carry is the “K” footprint.

Edit: I may be mistaken, and thought I had read that somewhere…

That would be great! Where did you see that confirmed, if you don’t mind?

Edit: This brief article says they’re K footprint and has some good SxS pics. Based on the top-down pic, it looks like the screw spacing is the same on both, sadly.

I could have swore I read that, but I just went to look for the source and I can’t find it…maybe I didn’t. I can’t imagine why there would be a regular and a “carry” version of it though.

Shield RMSc is a horrible optic. I have one on my p365 which I had milled when they first came out. The RMSc is just horrible. No adjustments for brightness. The 'dot' is a splotchy mess. The glass scratches easily. Avoid that optic if you can. There are so many better options out now, even if you have to go to holosun... it's a better choice than the RMSc.

I see these getting posted. Looks to be around $430ish at most places.

I'm thinking all HS products will soon see price increases. Knew it couldn't last forever.

Edit: Actually, I have no idea what price is to be expected. They're all over the map the more I look.

I'm seeing $292 for Green reticle 2MOA dot only version at Europtic. 32moa circle / 2moa dot models a good bit more.

I’m starting to get real impatient. When are these damn things supposed to be on the market??? My carry gun has been without an optic for too long.

I was under the impression it was last month but that never happened. I wonder if they're just working on building a substantial inventory so they don't end up like your boys at Cloud.

I almost pulled the trigger on a 407k the other week because I'm kind of tired of waiting as well.

That’s my assumption as well. They’re post on IG a couple months back made me think the release was going to be in late June or July, looks like that didn’t happen.

I’m thinking of going with a 2moa in green when they finally come out.

I'm still wondering about the EPS (non carry model) footprint. I'm hearing they're all K footprint, but the standard one comes with its own RMR adapter plate.

I am still confused about that as well, I initially thought the non carry was going to be a RMR footprint and the carry a K but it Seems the only difference is a rear notch in the “carry”?? I can’t fathom the reason they would do this..

The carry is smaller as well. The non-carry has a 28% larger lens. That’s the surprising part to me, a full size sight with a K footprint.

I'm sure that some Chinese worker that clicked the wrong button on the CAD machine has already payed the price for his crimes....as well as his extended family.

Ah, that’s right. I don’t know why I keep confusing the differences between the 2. I’m still baffled as to why they didn’t do one with a RMR footprint and the smaller with the K…

I’m with you, that’s why I’m waiting for them to hit the hands of users/reviewers so we can get 100% confirmation.

The “china hate” in this thread is hysterical. The company is owned and operated in the US. They just chose to have them built cheaper so china it is. Not saying that’s good or bad but they’ve been 100% up front about that from the start.

There was literally one comment with “china hate”…..I don’t know that that qualifies as “hysterical”

One direct with a couple inferring ones. I just get tired of seeing comments like that over and over. The people at holosun are good dudes and it just annoys me in general.

But to bring this back to the main post, I have a full size with adapter plate coming any day now directly from holosun. So I’ll have some photos soon. I have some preproduction models here now but they tweaked a few things on those to the final.

So you're sensitive because you know the guys behind the brand.
I buy their stuff because they innovate and quality isn't lacking. I wish they could move production to Japan or Philippines because China really isn't our friend. Certainly they must know what everyone is saying by now. We say the same thing about Primary Arms, Sig, Riton, etc.

If you want to go with the first part sure. Working in the industry I know quite a few faces and names behind popular brands. Some good and some bad. Holosun as you said makes a quality product for the price point. They are aware but if they do as you mentioned, you'd lose the cost-effectiveness of the brand. However, just to throw hate at a brand that is open about where their products are made just seems asinine.

Anyway, if anyone wants photos posted here let me know. I'd be glad too!

I'd really like to try a 1MOA RMR before I decide to replace the 507c

I'd be interested, as well as info on the height in regards to cowitness with BUIS.
