My wife parted ways with her 2013 Ford Explorer Sport today. It gave us 132,000 trouble free miles for nine years and was still going strong when we traded it in today.

We attempted to purchase a new Explorer ST but they are almost non-existent right now and the few that I did find were not the color or specs that I wanted for the car.

Not to mention most of the dealers are marking them up $7 - 8,000.00 over MSRP.

So I found this little jewel sitting on the lot at Alpha Romeo of Greensboro and went and picked it up today.

2022 Stelvio Veloce. It’s AWD with a 2.0L turbocharged in-line 4. What’s really nice about this car is the fact that the engine is longitudinally mounted just like a RWD setup.

Pop the cover off and the engine is right there and easy to get to for maintenance. Turbocharger is right on top. It really reminds me of the 4.0L straight six in my Jeep TJ. Very easy to work on under the hood.

Dealer knocked $3K off of the sticker and gave us a fair deal on our Explorer.

Those are really nice looking vehicles. Unfortunately, I don't think you will have the same reliable experience you did with the Explorer. Neighbor bought a Guilia a couple years ago. Drop dead sexy car and really fun to drive. It spent 4 months of the 13 months he owned it in the shop. He finally just traded it in and took a huge loss.

It’s sexy. What’s the warranty like on that brand.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Warranty is 4 yr/50,000 mi basic (referred to as the bumper to bumper) and 4 yr/50,000 mi powertrain. This covers the cost of parts and labor to repair covered components. 24 hour roadside assistance is also 4 years. This includes jump starts, fuel delivery, lockout protection and tow assistance. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Warranty stays with the car for the full 4yr/50,000 mi. This includes if the vehicle changes owners.

Time will tell. I did a little research and was hard pressed to find any major complaints from Stelvio owners on the forums or YouTube.

How do you get back into your favorite hunting spot, haul firewood or the days catch on the trap line in that thing?

I take a picture of the front, back, and both sides of it and have them enlarged to life size on vinyl decals.

Then I stick them on my Jeep Rubicon.😂

I love the Alfa wheels. Great looking ride enjoy it.

I have owned a lot of Italian motorcycles since the mid 80's. They were all very reliable, the newer ones are excellent. Different company but similar philosophies, I would expect the same from Alfa Romeo. Very nice car. Only the Italians would dare have such beautiful red seats!

Don’t know about SUV’s but I love the exhaust note of Italian cars … pretty vehicle … hope she lets you drive it!

The few times I’ve met her she seems pretty low key. That car is the opposite, but it does look cool and knowing you you’ve done your homework and then some on it.

She is low key. She’s never had an accident or speeding ticket since she got her drivers license 40 years ago.

This is for her to drive and me to look at. 😂😂

Oh yeah … I’ll bet that thing craps and gets at least three times faster than the old Ford … recalibration of right foot probably would not be and idea for both of you … even if she was low key.

I’m thinking it would look better with red seats.

I was driving next to a black one on the interstate this afternoon and kept looking over to check it out. They’re great looking vehicles! I hope it’s as fun to drive as it looks.
