First I managed to score her some cast iron pots she has been looking for a couple years. Yes, she loves them.

Today her Vitamix blender came. Actually we are both pretty excited about this thing. Can't wait to throw tomatoes in it for fresh tomatoes soup. We opted for a refurbished one. Thing looks brand new. She made a smoothie for lunch and loves it.

Anybody else have one?

My wife HAD to have a juicer a few years ago. We have an Omega. It was NOT cheap. It works really well. ERRR! It worked really well when it actually got used. Now every once in a while the dust gets knocked off and it gets used. Kind of reminds me of exercise equipment. The novelty wears off on most things. But a Vitamix is supposed to be the bees knees so maybe it'll stick.

Don't forget you dropped a spoon in there, while you got distracted, then turn it to the setting of angry...

Yeah, this wasn't an impulse. We have been considering one for a while. And with our recent change in diet habits, it fits in nicely. Been making smoothies pretty regular and out old processor was not cutting it. With the garden coming in we are going to do some soups. Probably do a smoothie for breakfast in the morning. We are pulling and canning carrots tomorrow. I'm going to save the skins and see if it will do a soup out of them.

A buddy of mine had one of the early juicers. That thing was way too much work.

We've had our Vitamix for over a decade. Best thing we have in the kitchen.
On a hot day try this.
Half fresh strawberries
Half frozen strawberries
Add whatever sweetener you prefer.
Blended it up.
Serve your kids first.
Then add rum for the adults.

Juicers strip away the majority of the nutrients and fiber.
And you can't make hot sauce in a juicer. But you sure can in a Vitamix, seeds and all.

Fun fact. Apple seeds have beneficial B complex vitamins and the trace amount of arsenic in the seeds is also beneficial.
The Vitamix pulverizes the seeds.
So use the whole Apple when you add it anything.

I don't have that model but I've been using the crap of my wife's magic bullet lately. It's perfect for a single serve smoothie or protein shake.
