Does anyone have a Honda security tool that I could borrow? Wanna remove the brand new, excellent condition spare from a 2003 CR-V. Before we hit the dealer, or try pounding a 12 point on it. In high point, but shipping is an option on my dime. Much appreciated, thanks! The key is MIA. Picture included.

Good luck. Those stupid things cost me $100 on a new car xfr from 1 dealer to another and then cost me gas and lost time driving back and forth to tire store because i had the stoopid tool in the glove box locked up. I swore when i traded cars i was going to take them off and throw them into 1 of those retention ponds at Leith on US1.

Is there by chance a sticker on the inside of the glove box door telling the lock number?

The locks are made by Mcguard if my memory serves me and there are about 190 different ones. You do not want to be driving around on a 15 year old tire even if it has zero miles. They are just like rubber bands and degrade with age.

That is true. Probably gonna try to get it off of there, and eliminate ~40lbs being pulled around for no reason.

I have a 2013 CR-V. What’s the chances they are the same lock?
The chances are 1 in 10,, I have a master set from McGuard and have used them for years. There are only 10 different locks that McGuard produced and sold to Honda dealerships for use on the 19 mm lug nut size nuts, likewise there are only 10 different ones for all the 22 MM lug nut sized nuts.
