Had to go to the Dentist and have my teeth cleaned this morning. I stopped by the pawn shop to check on some ammo on my way to work, and what did I see?
A ruger red label all weather 12 gauge. I asked for the price and the pawn shop owner told me. I told him I would be back after work to see how he would trade on a ruger m77 hawkeye all weather .30-06. I couldn't wait to get home from work ( an all weather red label has been on my wish list for a while) When I walked in with my rifle he said missed it by 30 minutes. A guy from georgia came up and bought it. Oh well, Ya win some , Ya lose some.....Not totally disappointed, I got to keep my hawkeye!

Your shop doesn't hold stuff for you?
I got a call from my pawn shop that they got a gun i wanted. I said I couldn't be in for at least 2 or 3 days.
they put my name on it and stuck it under the counter. They do that for a lot of customers.

Yep......the more accommodating they are...the more they're making off the deal.

very possibly. or they just like the idea of guaranteed money and a loyal customer in 2 days rather than trying to hustle other folks into a sale.
but then both of those things work out to more money with less work.

They probably would but I didn't ask. And its not like I do a ton of business there. I just stop in from time to time. I'm sure I could have left a deposit for them to hold it, but I wanted to negotiate the price/ possible trade. I couldn't spend a whole lot of time in there because I had to get on in to work.
