Anyone pick one of these up yet? Since moving I’ve picked up a SiCo 22 can and a 30 cal for my 300 BLK, which is crazy quiet with subs. I’m kinda torn and not sure if a 5.56 can is worth it. Doesn’t seem to quiet the round down that much. If the can doesn’t make the rifle hearing safe then what’s the point. I’m open to someone to change my mind though.

I have two...and a Turbo K pending.

I always wear plugs. If shooting unsuppressed, it’s plugs under muffs. So the “hearing safe” threshold doesn’t matter to me.

The Turbo has a decent amount of backpressure, which can make it a little louder/sharper at the ear.

I suppress everything. Well, except my Beowulf and a 7.5” 5.56 that was built to be obnoxious. I absolutely think suppressing supersonic ammo is worth it. Knocking ~30dB off of a noise is better than not doing it.

You’re not too far away. If you have a place to shoot, let me know and I’ll bring a Turbo down for you to try. Or you can meet me at PHA one day. I highly encourage people to shoot 5.56 suppressed before buying one. It’s nowhere near Hollywood quiet, but it’s a vast improvement.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I don’t have a place to shoot, but I may take you up on the offer to meet up one day. Where is PHA?

40 minutes or so up 85 from where 485 intersects near Concord Mills.

85 North, exit 84 (in NC). Couple minutes down that road.

Currently planning to shoot in the morning on Friday 8/30 if you can get away.
