YOUR LEVER GUN PICS

The short-barreled levers talk up-thread reminded me to get my Winchester 94AE out for a photo. Nothing too special. 1986 manufacture, 16" bbl 30-30. I know I bought it used, but I have no recollection or record of when, where, or price paid.

A short barreled saddle ringed Winchester is far from “nothing too special”.

Take it back.

45/70 of course! It’s my favorite cartridge. Heck the first center fire rifle I bought twelve years ago was a 45/70

That one is a ‘99

I had a 1895 in .45-70 for a few short years. That one was made in 1972, later I got a Browning 1886 Carbine in .45-70. Wish I had them both back.

Oh heck yeah! I’m in the same boat. I’ve only had JM 1895’s
Started with an 1895GS (‘06)
Then an 1895CB (‘01)
Now I have my 1895G (‘99)

I didn't look through all they had, but Liberty in Hillsborough had a nice selection of some really nice levers!

Did someone say jfanatic just drooled all over his keyboard?!?!?

This has been a long time coming. I have sought after one for a decade. Sold some real good guns for this pup. I’m thirty. I have a long time to get this thing in tune with me. Quigley’s are a big hope in my future!!

BLR in 6.5 Creedmor. Not sure it makes total sense, but my guess is I’ll enjoy it.

Congrats on the purchase! Out of curiosity, what's the barrel length?
Henry's "Long Ranger" with the box magazine goes with 20" on 5.56/.243/.308 and 22" on the 6.5 Creedmoor. I say that just for comparison's sake.

It’s 20”. Which I guess would limit the Creedmor range, but in a lever gun I’m never going to challenge it’s ability anyway. From up close to a few hundred yars i should be and easy flat shooting gun.

The John (The Duke) Wayne commerative is very special to me. My Mom met him at the Brown Derby in Hollywood/LA twice in the mid 60s while she was attending an IBM programming class. I have a letter he wrote her.

So after my 1st wife passed in 2012 I came across this JW Commerative on Gunbroker, along with 2 boxes of commerative ammo in 32-20 for it.

Along comes 2016 and I’m remarried to a wonderful gun loving gal. She’s seen my Mom’s JW letter and knows I’m a big fan of his.

So she buys me the poster and has it professionally framed. When she presented it to me I got a big smile on my face and I told her “that’s perfect!” I have that rifle.

No you don’t…. Yes I do… I go out to the safe and bring it back in to show her.

I love the rifle and poster and keep it in a place of honor.

Long live The Duke!

I've been a firearms instructor/range officer for a decades. Shooting got boring, then we started using lots of steel. That eventually got boring and I got into select-fire. That got boring and I got into suppressed - for about a minute - and that got boring. Now, the only thing that I enjoy at the range/woods is pistol caliber lever actions. FUN.

I have a bunch of levers, but I'll just post a few of my favorites.
