You notice I didn't necessarily say favorite caliber, but what caliber...in handgun or rifle, do you have most of?
Bunch of 9mm's? 1911 heaven? AK city?

I got a bunch of 22lr's. I don't think that's really fair though I think most of us do. But beyond rimfire, I really don't have a caliber that dominates. I seem to shoot the fairly common stuff most often though...9/40/45acp/223-556/and 308, but they all get equal air time. I guess in my case I havn't got a caliber that is my default, I'll sleep with anybody.

45 acp, probably 25 or more 1911s, haven't counted lately, seems to always be one more 1911 I just got to have.the new light weight defender has replaced the 938 as my EDC for now.

I had to check...
22lr are the most numerous, followed by a tie: 9mm and x54r

.380 handguns, don't ask it just happened...
.223 also rules my long guns

Rifles? 7.62x39
Pistols? Also 7.62x39

As the great warrior poet Ice Cube once said..."If the day does not require an AK...it is good".

Sounds like a crappy day to me.

7.62x39 is by far my most stocked rifle round.
9mm is all I keep for pistols unless you cound 22lr.

Handguns is about an even split between 9mm and 45 ACP
Rifle, I have a lot of 30-06 for the Garand's and 1903s, following by a good mix of 5.56

Firearms, about half 22LR (plurality of pistols and rifles both), then 9 and 223. And infrequently a bunch of others. Probably pretty typical.

22lr then
9mm then
38special then
45acp

Only have three rifles that aren’t pistol calibers, .223 and 300blk

Based on the number of firearms, .22lr, 9mm, .40, .45, .357, .38spl, 12ga and .308.

I don't shoot my 270sm and 30/06 very often, but I like them. .22 rifles and pistols al lot. 17 HMR gets attention. CF pistols are 9mm and .45 acp the most because that is all that I reload. The S&W 19-3, 2 1/2 inch has to come out every so often though.

9mm

-beretta 92
-glock 17
-hk vp9
-ruger american 9
-hk sp5k

Then I have 3 22lr, everything else is one firearm per caliber

Top 5 in order by number of weapons (not ammo stored):

5.56, .22, 12 gauge, .38, and 9mm.

I am happy with what I have but until I typed that out I did not realize how boring that would sound. Like other folks, I think I chased "boring" as a reaction to the ammo shortages of the last decade. I sadly shed a lot of fun calibers in order to "standardize".

22LR is #1 because I have bolt guns, a 15-22, semi-auto pistols and a revolver

.40 & 5.56 are tied for second

Then there are another 8 or so calibers that are either one or two firearms

...or do I need to go back and includes silencers in my counts since they're considered firearms?

And it may surprise a few that these two items are missing from my collection:
1. Any form of 10/22
2. Any semi-auto 9mm handgun (the only two 9mm firearms I own are an AR SBR and a Pitbull...as I'm not counting conversion barrels for my .40 Glocks)

9mm by far
.224/5.56 by far
12 guage

I keep a relatively good record of the ammo I buy and stockpile, it isn't exact, but its within a few hundred on any caliber.

22LR by far, mainly because I bought when cheap and then never shot it
9mm --> 22WMR--> 5.7x28--> .40--> .380--> .25acp--> .38/357mag
.223/5.56 = 7.62x39--> .300AAC --> .284Win

I only own 9x19 handguns and 5.56 long guns right now (and many of each). I shoot my handguns about 90% of the time. Eventually I'll branch out to .45 and 10mm.
