I asked this on the other place but I'm going to ask again because it's still a issue.

The build is a PSA freedom upper with their BCG. The lower is a ATI polymer lower with a cheap build kit and a AGI defense trigger.

I have tried several ammos, FD 556, FD 556 green tip, Tula, monarch steel case ( laquor and zinc washed) and American eagle. I have gone away completely from the monarch.

I still get 1 or 2 FTF every mag with all these ammos.

I lube the crap out of the BCG. I don't see anything in the firing pin channel. The trigger springs are on correct ( checked against several pics).

Should I buy another BCG? A heavy hammer spring?

Ammo suggestions?

I would find another lower to try the upper on before I bought anything.

Still fails maybe BCG, but I'd probably have the headspace checked.

If it doesn't fail I'd look hard at that poly receiver.

Some of the ammo you listed has hard primers, but they should light with remotely mil-spec FCG, I have no experience with nor have I heard of AGI. Stiff springs would just be a band-aid.

Here's a pic of a few primers. 2 fired 2 didn't. They look the same to me.

Tomorrow I will be trying a different lower to see if that has any effect.

and the trigger passes a basic function test.

OK I used my other lower. It is also a ATI polymer lower. Damn thing would fire when you pulled the trigger back and when u released it to reset....

Should I buy a factory built lower and see what I get? Should I drop this thing off at me gun smith?

I measured the firing pin protrusion and it's .028 or .029. what I have found is it should be .032 to .039.

the colt length for the pin is 3.280. mine is measuring 3.272.

Going to order a few more pins.

None of those primer strikes look light to me. I'd be checking my headspace.

The fire on release sounds pretty disturbing. I have no answer beyond some kind of trigger trouble.

Ya it's the wrong pic.... Lol sorry.

I have checked the head space with a field gauge. It passes.

The lower that went full auto I figured what went wrong. The machined surface on the hammer has chipped and it's releasing when I let go of the trigger! Lol going to order a quality trigger group.

And no more money saving ( cheap) build kits.... Lol

I just had a brain fart.

I hate to admit this. I bought some handguards for AR builds. When I got them I realized the barrel nut was NOT substantial enough for aluminum. I did some digging....Turns out the guy was selling airsoft stuff for AR parts. I burned him bad on GunBroker.

Um. Are you sure that isn't an airsoft trigger? I don't know, I'm just spitballing. It just seems your trigger wasn't made for real firearm.
Not running your stuff down I just know it happened to me.

Seen the same thing with Magpul MBUS sights. Looked just like the real thing with the exception of a set screw on the front sight. It pays to do some research, it is disturbing that people are willing to do something like that which could get someone hurt when the parts fail.

Got my new firing pins in. Bought 5. They all measure 3.278. my old one was 3.272. the new pin sticks out .033. going to go tomorrow and see what happens :)

I got some rounds through her. A mag each of Tula steel case 55 and 62gr, 55gr monarch steel case laquor 55gr, federal 50gr varmint rounds, and American eagle military 55gr. The only ones that have a problem were the American eagle military. Had 2 that had light strikes. Going to replace the hammer spring tonight. The trigger is a ALG and their springs.

Top pic are fired rounds. The bottom light strikes.

The AE "military" ammo (M193?) you speak of probably uses a thicker/harder cup. Nothing wrong with the ammo, but I hope you get your problem straightened out

Got the new hammer spring in. It's in the right way ;) the trigger pull weight went up to 5.5lbs. hammer hit noticably harder on the finger. Going to try out some more ammo tomorrow.

Well I FINALLY got out to shoot this ar again. New hammer spring and new firing pin. 100 rounds of mixed ammo( federal military 55gr, steel cased monarch, other brass stuff from Walmart) now problems. I'm a Happy person now! Lol

I had replaced my trigger springs with some lighter ones and had plenty of FTF. so I am back to the heavy mil spec springs. and no issues. glad you figured it out

Yea the spring on the ALG is a problem. If you read the instructions that come with it, it says it can cause light primer strikes. Happened on my pistol build so I swapped to a basic milspec 8 pounder. When I put the ALG in another rifle it'll be with the 5.5 pound spring.
