+1 And to play devil's advocate why do M&P and CZ manufacturers make you put another $100+ into a new pistol to get a decent trigger? Must be great marketing, no?
To argue with the devil:
Neither make you do anything. S&W has great marketing power.
CZ's marketing was almost completely non-existent until very recently, but it is still very small and they do not market after-market products.
CZ Custom and Cajun Gun Work are just small businesses and get 99% of their business from word of mouth (online postings) and so I would say their is some social network marketing there.
Glock has the best marketing by far.
Whether they are SA or DA is another discussion. Still, why do new guns need to go back to a custom shop or to the gunsmith to improve? I don't think I've ever seen a comment lately on CZs or Smiths that were what was acceptable out of the box. Maybe I missed those remarks. Again, I'm getting curiouser.
As a followup I've got quite a few CZs, all bought used after custom shop visits, and they are as cool as the cat's nuts.
I've seen plenty of CZ's people use out of the box.
No CZ I am aware of "needs to go back to a custom shop". Literally brazillions of CZ-75's have been used by police and military over decades that were all bone stock out of the box. Same for S&W. A lot of performance mods for competition guns have trickled down to regular hobbyist guns.
But with a CZ, they also have a range of guns for carry and competition that beg to be hot rodded. Because for some money you can have an absolutely sweet trigger and action.
They get hot rodded for the same reason a Camaro or a Glock does. Make it smoother, faster, better looking.
Lets face it: the money being spent on Glock modifications outweighs CZ/SW mods (don't know why these two are even in same category, lol) probably like 1,000 to 1.
Glocks are fun to throw money at, too! But you get a nice CZ in your hand, and it's clear its the kinda girl you want to keep and spend money on. Compared to old butter face wallflower Grok over there.....Heh.
I don't know, I like CZ's and Groks!
