Same here. It saves 2-3" in length compared to designs with a separate magwell. The carbine/ pistol combo with the same grip and mags seems like a no brainer to me. Wonder why everybody hasn't jumped on board.

Yeah I loved my CX4, it ran like a champ and I just loved the looks. I always thought about getting the barrel threaded and put on the Galactica compensator...

One issue is you need a certain amount of space to fix the bolt and recoil system. This is why both the FPC and Sub2000 have a long length of pull compared to AR based PCC’s.Same here. It saves 2-3" in length compared to designs with a separate magwell.
Do you mean $279 is half price? Because I bought one for $220 before Rona.
Hi point down to half the price
Half the price of the FPC, which is the subject of this thread…Do you mean $279 is half price? Because I bought one for $220 before Rona.
Or does that coupon cut the price 50%?
Ah, I see. I thought maybe the coupon on that page brought the 995 down to <$200.Half the price of the FPC, which is the subject of this thread…
They're only similar in caliber. And ability to change mags. The people buying the Henry probably wont look at the S&W very hard and vice versa.Just curious why I haven't seen any comparison to the other new PCC on the market, the Henry Homesteader. Is the S&W the next shiny object and we've moved on?
.
I got excited for a minute until I realized HK wasn't on the list. Why has no one mentioned yet that both keltec and Ruger have managed to make their carbines use a bunch of mags? the sub2k you just swap out the release, and the PC9 you swap out part of the mag well.
Somehow keltec managed to make it work with damn near everything:

Yea, maybe someone will buy one and be so in love with it they'll get an M&P pistol, or maybe they'll never try it since it won't work with their existing Beretta/CZ/Sig/Glock/Canik stuff.
Keltec has one a lot of very clever stuff over the years, this being one of them. Why has no one mentioned yet that both keltec and Ruger have managed to make their carbines use a bunch of mags? the sub2k you just swap out the release, and the PC9 you swap out part of the mag well.

S&W could be smart just support their own mags-fewer complaints And less engineering and tooling up front. If it catches on (and it seems to be) there will be third parties offering conversions. Looking at pics it seems the grip just held on with screws and the barrel pivot pin so I can see that happening soon.Keltec has one a lot of very clever stuff over the years, this being one of them.

If I had an mp5 no way I'd be buying the fpc. I'm talking about p30 (/vp9) mags.also you HK boys just stick to your mp5! The fpc is for us peasants
If HK made one it would use P7 mags…If I had an mp5 no way I'd be buying the fpc. I'm talking about p30 (/vp9) mags.
$800 is a bit much for it. $600 makes it more palatableI played with one in a local shop. Not impressed. They also wanted 8 bills for it.

I actually like that "mass produced for the diaspora to the colony worlds where function is the primary concern but was designed by quirky AI" vibe Keltec stuff has.>>Somehow keltec managed to make it work with damn near everything:
George Kellgren is a really smart guy who certainly seems to spend more time in engineering than styling.
Plastic has great advantages, cheap, light, and strong (enough). But no matter what people say my instincts scream "plastic is bad and will one day wear out, break, crack, melt, and/or get loose and fall off". Grips and stocks are fine because they can be replaced easily but making the receiver out of plastic just seems wrong.I actually like that "mass produced for the diaspora to the colony worlds where function is the primary concern but was designed by quirky AI" vibe Keltec stuff has.

Ah, the polymer one shot. In the old tabletop game I was fond of the various smgs that melt when you do a mag dump lolView attachment 599120
Kel-Tec is just ahead of it's time. I look forward to the day we can buy 3d printed pistols from Kel-Tec vending machines.
