Hit up MHC Port area yesterday. Started off nice, then the water spouts hit. Rain threatened but held off. I’m all a good day of catching. I totally forgot to take a pic of the haul until it was too late. I kept several pigfish, which I will fry whole, and a grey trout (I caught several greys, but you are only allowed to keep one per day). Caught lots of undersized black sea bass. I also live lined pinfish in hopes of catching a cobia, but no luck… the pinfish did bring some excitement… I had two different big king mackerels hit. One cut my pinfish off just behind the hook. The second rocked my bait at full speed and cut through my 100lb test mono like hot butter. Next outing I will use wire mackerel rigs, just in case, even if I am targeting cobia.
Almost forgot….
PSA: the lizard fish are here and in full force!
