1911 Pictures

Thanks i believe they are the Desert burl pattern by wicked grips. I thought they were real wood when i ordered and was disappointed to find out they were actually aluminum with the wood pattern on them. My fault for not reading the ad thoroughly. They look good though, so I'm ok. They feel very solid

I would not have been able to tell from the pics. My go to these days for quality affordable and available 1911 grips is Wood Caliber. I would prefer Spegel but it is a 2 year wait.

Thanks. Yea at first i was really pissed off. Then i tried to contact them and the website was under construction and that made me furious. I just wanted some nice wood on it, but as i waited to get a hold of them, i threw them on the gun and even though they aren't wood and have the ambi safety cut (which i did not select during the order process) they have grown on me. The aluminum feels really solid and since im not gonna shoot it much, it just makes it nice to look at. 109$ on wicked grips if anyone is interested. Thanks for the kind words fellas. Next best thing to wood, i guess.

I would bring it back up with them. Did you pay with a credit card? I did trade with the owner many many moons ago. I personally would not buy grips from him after that experience. If you paid with a credit card send the grips back with a tracking number and dispute the charge. You will win.

Yes i did use a credit card. It seemed strange that as soon as i got them the website was under construction. About a week after i put them on and started to feel better about it i get an email saying website is back up. I'll keep em just bc im lazy but i agree i wouldn't order from them again. They look good, just not real wood.

The SA RO, my original ballgun… slide is currently off at KC Kustoms getting the work done to go wadgun. Got my first leg points with this gun—just needed a new bushing and a little trigger cleanup.

The replacement ballgun. Started life as an RIA GI, and it’s been completely gutted, refit, and refinished. Took a bit more work to get there, but now it’s definitely comparable to the SA. Frankly, considering getting a holster for it…
