1911 Pictures

I'm so happy right now that I found my grandfather's Colt Combat Commander 1911 45acp that I was supposed to get when my grandfather passed away at my buddy's gun shop yesterday. My uncle kept it back then and told everyone that he didn't know where it was and that my grandfather sold it before he died and it was legally someone else's since he sold it which would have been true if my grandfather did sell it which I found out yesterday that he didn't. My friend called me to let me know that my uncle just sold him a nice Colt 1911 and I might be interested in it. I asked him to let me know if anyone in my family brings him a gun to trade or sell because I had some family members that are selling family heirloom's that I want to keep in the family and some of them are gun's that my grandfather and his brother left to family members.

I got there and saw the gun and knew right away that it was the same one that he lied about and after looking at it and the factory box the original receipt from when he bought it new was still in the box with my grandfather's name and signature on it so I hit the jackpot lol.

Now to go kick my uncle's ass lol. But really I'm so happy to get this gun back and to keep it in my family to leave it to my son one day.IMG_20230927_231900251.jpgIMG_20230927_231841169.jpg

Fall/Winter carry setup.

Say what you will about Kimber—Cohen’s management took them straight to the bottom of the barrel before he left to ruin Sig—but my recent production TLE has chugged happily along through a couple thousand rounds of semiwadcutters, JHPs, hardball loads, and softball loads, all from a variety of mags, with no problems.

It’s on the hip today while my TRP is back with Springfield. I'd thought about selling this pistol a while ago because it filled the same niche as the TRP... glad I did not.

They make this in a .45 variant too.
Checkered front strap, u-notch Novak style rear sight, fiber front sight, countersunk slide stop, and all for skinny money. Used to be that a Fusion Freedom series at $700 was the least you could spend and get front strap checkering. They turned out to not last very long.

Just picked up this Springfield Armory Ronon Commander 9mm today.
Can't wait to get it to the range.

Is he out of King, NC?
David passed away about 25 years ago of liver disease brought on by alcoholism. a talented and pistol smith and a wonderful friend to those who knew him. Many on this forum have had wonderful interactions with David. The gun community is a sadder place because he is gone but a better place because he was here.
