Didn't want to clutter Spekters thread. I mentioned in that thread that I looked at a Kioti DK45S tractor a few months ago. Went and looked at it again today. Previously I mistakenly said it had 800 hours. It has 529 hours. One owner. 4x4 with a Woods FEL (owner said when he bought it he told them he wanted a FEL on it. Woods is what the installed back then). 2 sets of rear remotes. Last used yesterday. Everything works as it should. Price is $16,000 firm. Opinions on price/ in general/etc?

Sounds fair based on hrs and being 4x4 and loader. No experience with that brand but wouldnt be scared of a woods loader they have been making them for years.

Good score! The first thing that I'd do is change all filters and the engine oil. Wouldn't hurt to change the transmission hydraulic oil too. Use high quality lubricants.

Carquest provides most of my filters (I recall that I have to go to Kioti for the Hyd filters though).

That's at the top of the list. Went to Knightdale to The Tractor Place (Kioti place in Greenville is closed) to pick up some rear remote dust caps for the two rear remotes and to check on a part. Picking up a canopy from there next week and installing it. Got to have some shade on them hot days.

How was your visit to the big city? Did you marvel at the Sheetz station?

Thankfully on a Saturday it wasn't terribly busy. LOL Wilson has a Sheetz no need for me to marvel.

Just having a little fun knowing where you live. I remember when Tarboro moved to the big time with our own Walmart and Raceway gas station.

The Raceway and Bojangles didn't come in until just before I moved. Now they're 20 years old.

You drove right by all they new stuff in Nashville anyway. Even if you would call Wendell or Knightdale the "big city" there isn't really anything but the giant Ford dealership and a fancy ABC store in that area anyway. That's the exit we use to go to my in-laws.

Looks like a fair deal. Enjoy sir!

The folks at The Tractor Place are great!

I’ve owned a DK65 since 2003. Good, solid tractor. I’d buy it.
Picked up the canopy yesterday. Was talking to owners son and he mentioned he had a DK55 that was having a synchronizer put in it. I asked him if he knew of any problems with those year models and he said the only thing he was aware of was “With the big front tires they came with it wore out the front bearings and had to be replaced with the better upgraded bearings.” Have you had any issues like that?

No issues thus far, but that's good to know.

Little late, but my reassuring comment is that my smartest buddy chose that brand after doing his due diligence and then some while researching tractors for his newly purchased property. Hasn’t given him a lick of trouble and I hope yours is as reliable.

And for anyone with a Kioti that wants to touch up some paint I came across this on Tractorbynet forum. Kioti paint/Duplicolor DB1620/Rust-Oleum Chevy orange comparison. The member who posted it has a DK40SE HST but didn't mention what year.

Loving it. Wish I had bought one sooner. One odd thing is that you have to push UP on the throttle lever to speed up and down to slow down. Seems backwards to me. Question for you tractor owners. I noticed that one of the rear remotes is a little wet. Thinking I got an O-ring that needs to be replaced in it. Can I find the correct size in one of the o-ring multi packs (Lowes/Harbor Freight) or would it be a farm supply/dealer item?

Just change the quick connect fitting. Alot less mess and hassle

As for the oring sometimes you can just get lucky and find a standard one that will work if its just the remote fitting but alot of them have more specialised orings and backing rings depending design. It also maybe easier to just replace coupler than trying to rebuild it. Dealer should be able to help you with parts break down or sometimes you can find it on mfg website. I know jd and nh are decent at giving you parts break downs and you need it as most parts guys are not much without a part number these days.

Picked up an Everything Attachments 6' land plane last week. Another question for you tractor owners that have them. Pats Easy Change Quick Hitch or Speedco (or similar) Quick Hitch? My brother has a Pats Easy Change Quick Hitch on his Kubota and it sure looks nice not having to kick the lift arms into place.

Pats quick hitch. The other style are a pita. As they don't fit every attachment. Especially ones that have a floating top link. Like a bush hog or finish mower.

If you don't already have a hydraulic top link. They rock.
If you don't have e one I can find the place I ordered mine from if you are interested

That is definitely on the list of things to buy. I'd like the info of where you bought yours from if you don't mind.

The way I got mine was to measure the top link with an implement sitting at a level position, I then ordered the top link with 6 inches adjustment in both directions.

I can tip my bush hog up and sharpen the blades with ease.

Also if the website shows out of stock. Call them. They can give you the date when they will have them.

Also call them to order. They almost always have a coupon code they will apply.

I bought a quick hitch first, then switched to Pats when I ran into problems getting some of my attachments to connect with the Speeco.

I’ll make you a deal on the Speeco. 😎

Thanks, but I ordered the Pats last night. Should be here next week.

We have a Pat's on ours. It was a bit of a pain to install. You have to tighten the bolts consecutively and, at least on ours, it seemed like they wanted to land in weird places. Finally I got a much more mechanically inclined friend to help.

Hooking stuff up to the tractor is still a pain, but it's about 1/4 of the pain it was without the easy hitch. This is where we ordered ours from: http://www.pats3pointhitchsystem.com/page/7229

One thing I will say, I looked at the tractor specifications and it said it's a category I/II and I called the company. They looked it up and said it should take a cat II. Nope, it's a I based on the hole size i the swivels, but it will telescope out to a cat II span. Also, the tractor horse power, 45hp, is in both ranges. They sent us a cat I system and I sent the II back and there was no hassle, but I did pay for a II and pay return shipping on it.

Have another question. As I mentioned earlier my brother has a Pats system in his tractor. He found that after installing the Pats system the pto shaft on his older bush hog was not long enough. He picked up a pto adapter today. Is that mainly a problem with older implements? My Land Pride bush hog connected fine on his.
