Wow, there have been several of you show up in the last few days. We here at Carolina Firearms Forum would like to welcome you all. CFF was born immediately upon learning that our former home had been sold to people that are not nearly as 2A friendly as we would have liked. Within hours CFF was up and running and the word spread like wildfire. A few short months later, here we are, a locally owned and operated 2A forum with the best membership on the web. Did I happen to mention that we have some of the best IT nerds and geeks available anywhere? These guys are the reason that this place exists and we are extremely grateful for them and their talents.

When we found out the news that our beloved old forum had been sold emotions were high and opinions were expressed. Since then, we have had time to cool off and focus on our new home on the web and enjoy what is being built right here. We ask that you not bash any other forums or members publicly here, we're bigger than that. The fact that you have asked to be a part of our community is "revenge" enough. Oh, they know it, too. ;)

Now that you're here, look around and catch up with some familiar people and make friends with the others. You won't find a better and more knowledgeable group anywhere. We have many topics, pick one or twelve and jump right in. We also have a few Karma or giveaways going on right now and one is even geared towards new members that are just signing up. Check them out and good luck.

If you like Carolina Firearms Forum, and I'm pretty confident that you will, please pass the word to any friends you may have. We would love to have each and every one of them here with us, too. Thanks for joining us and we're very happy to have you with us.

Well said Larry...........and another huge welcome to all that are stepping up to join us. We're young enough that several years from now we'll all look back and appreciate what has come together within the first year of CFF being birthed in the Carolinas.

Life is good.

Great writing Larry! I didn't know you had it in ya.

Welcome to everyone coming over from NCGO. We're glad to have you all

Great post @Geezer

There has been another exodus from the other place.
I don't want to nor do I approve of anyone bashing others from the other site or the site in of itself.

I'd really like to do a "meet & greet" around the Clayton/Garner/Raleigh area so that those of us from the other place and y'all from where y'all came from, can get together and meet.
We're not bad people from the other place and you guys are not bad either.

Hope that makes sense. :)

We're all good people. :)

We are very lax on rules around here but bashing others won't be tolerated. There is nothing to gain from it.

The subject of Meet & Greet get togethers has been talked about almost since day one. We were teased with these at the other place but they did not materialize. Since we're in two states and spread from the coast to the mountains, we cover a large area. If any of you want to start a Meet & Greet event, please do. The Alamance County guys did one recently with success.
We are working on something for the fall but have run into some snags. But, we haven't given up. Yes, Wolfie, we're all good people here.

I won't tolerate bashing either, no point in it.

As far as a "m/g", we sometimes just did a get together for dinner around here in the Clayton area.

For a m/g and shooting, we could probably do Frontline Defense (Warren Co), Eastern NC Firing Range (Goldsboro), or maybe even Range 37 in Lillington.

I'm open to organizing (it's the engineer in me), but I need people to actually show up...

Me too. Would contribute to a M/G with food and or beer....

Should have come up to the Alamance get together in Burlington. We even had a few from Durham show up like @Curmudgeon and @Elenaidan . Everyone there were good people. In fact, I think a chili cook off was discussed for some point. We'll need some of these new NCGO guys to throw down as well.

Yeah, I'd do Burlington...

with or without chili!

Yea, and the thread over there that caused a lot to jump ship and come here...
It has been sanitized, censored.

EVERY single post after the OP has been deleted and the thread closed.

I've been wondering what caused the influx. What was the topic that got everyone so hot and bothered?

I'm shocked, dismayed and somewhat taken aback. Did I mention I'm shocked? :p

In a way, I'm glad that it was done. Lends further credence to the comments I made both in that thread and in support of my reasons for departing and joining this site.

And now that they closed the thread I have no reason to go back at all...so I've got that going for me.

The thread, for those who don't know, was from Design Mine about the vendor price increase.
Jumped something like 800%

A lot of banter back 'n forth about that and the general downhill direction the site has gone since December last year.
Guess it's a good thing I got a few screen shots...

Sorry to hear about the old forum, I'm new to both trying to expand my NC specific firearms knowledge. I'm still on both but have noticed since joining here that there is a lot more traffic so I'm getting more current info which is what I'm looking for.

There are TONS of people here that will help however they can. Glad you're here.

No hard feelings toward NCGO or anyone there. Lots of good people. The group that bought that forum has done the same things at others they bought, and caused members to quit. I didn't know about this place, or I'd have joined sooner. Ive been amazed at how active this place is!

You're here now, that's what counts, and we're glad to have all of you that have come from NCGO. I can promise you will soon forget the drama you've left behind. This bunch of maniacs is the greatest therapy you can find on the 'web.

There is a Statement of Principles of Carloina Firearms Forum in the introduce yourself section that is a sticky. Take the time to read it. It could be called our constitution or such. It tells members how we are going to conduct ourselves and our community here and that under no circumstances will we be Sold.

I have supported other websites, but not to the tune of becoming a plank owner. Proud to be a member here.
