Aero Precision getting into the PCC market

Headed to the range today to get it broken in. Here is my build list for this:

Aero EPC receiver set
Aero 8.3in barrel
Aero 9mm bcg
Aero EPC buffer
.308 buffer spring
PWS enhanced buffer tube with ratcheting plate
SBA3 with split fix
CMC 3.5 9mm flat trigger
Randian talon safety
Radian Raptor LT charging handle
Magpul MOE K2+ grip
BAD enhanced takedown/pivot pins
Rugged 3-lug muzzle device
Sig Romeo optic
Random small parts kit for remaining springs

Think that is everything…

Ran about 200 rounds through it and it worked flawlessly. I used 90 grain frangible, 115gr ball, 124gr JHP and 150gr flat nose, the gun ate all of them 100%. Also tried out Magpul mags and OEM Glock mags, both functioned as they were supposed to and locked back on last round every time.

Thanks for the range report. Been wanting to build a .40 S&W. Looks like I have found the receivers I’m going to use.

I went bigger with the CMMG rotary bolt .45 bcg/bbl on my last two pcc builds. A lot lighter than the old Olympic Arms blowback builds. My lowers are all CNC Enterprises that are dedicated greasegun magazine lowers. The Olympic guns run anything but the cmmg are a little pickier. Also had to open up the ejection port on the dpms upper I used for the short bbl but went with the midway ar-stoner upper parts for the long bbl which has a much larger port.

So far, I’ve built 6 9mm PCC’s with the Aero stuff. I’ve got one that has an Aero lower and an Angstadt upper and have had zero issues out of any of them. 4 pistols, and two 16” full railed rifles. So much fun to shoot!!!

10mm 16” is the next build!!

Had an out of battery detonation yesterday while shooting. Was in the first mag of the day shooting Federal Syntech 130gr PCC ammo when I got a weird pop and my mag blew out the bottom. The case cleared out of the chamber and made sure there wasn’t a round stuck in the barrel. After I tried to load back up and shoot it again I noticed my mag release was damaged and it wouldn’t lock in the mag.

I’ll have to check it out more in depth when I get home to day and break it down on the work bench, but it seems that the mag release was forced out so hard it bent it or damaged the spring somehow. I’ll likely be contacting Aero to get it sent back to them for repair since the release is a proprietary part and doesn’t look like something I can swap out myself. I didn’t get anything except a little powder to the side of my face, so good remedied to always wear your PPE while shooting!
