It's a lose-lose for gun owners.
Someone gets itchy and shoots a few of these dummies, need more gun restrictions.
These dummies shoot a few people, could be us, could be themselves, in either case, need more gun restrictions.

Only option that I think makes sense is to gives these nuts a very wide berth and to consider how to denigrate them in the media.

This is true of a great many populist movements, including the one that birthed this Republic.

Optics and propaganda are vital; they establish public sentiment in spite of facts. This is where it is absolutely critical that a commander understand the political context of his military aims - not such that he gets men killed by not utilizing extreme violence when required, but that he maintains public support of his actions even as he is applying extreme violence.

The people funding them do not care one bit about ANTIFA's views. They simply are using them as pawns to provoke and fight those that will not knuckle under or cower down. It is all about control. When push comes to shove the people funding these groups will not divide their wealth or relinquish their power.

I've been on my way to CQB heaven for many years now. I have a nice ultra long range rifle that is designed to do nothing else but kill a person that is a mile away. It's not a hunting rifle. It's fun, and expensive, to shoot. But I have no use for it because I don't envision ever having the need to use it for what it's designed for.

So, I'll be putting it on the market sometime this summer to help finance my desire for another uber expensive short(er) barrel large caliber vehicle destroyer/concrete exploder. I'm partially there, but I want to get all the way there. If the crap goes south before I can sell it, the Heron or anyone else that has the skills, is certainly welcome to use it.:D

I understand where you are coming from and agree 100% on the training. What troubles me about the possibile events is the aftermath/effect on loved ones. I have no desire to get shot/die but realize fulll well that bullets fly both ways and no one is invincible.

They are leaderless on a national level at this point, except for dead idealist who wrote books. Which makes them dangerous in the, I just ran across a rabid dog kind of way. Unless you run into them in a big group, then it's I just ran into a mouthy mob that seems to want a problem kind of way. If a leader rises up that would unify and guide them, yeah that could be a problem.

Until then, I'll keep my eye on this. Load some more. Shoot some more. Ship out holsters to other like minded folks some more.

Then there is the other side of the coin that says be prepared but call it what it is...a small group of snowflakes with absolutely nothing to contribute to society who have gotten up from Battlefield 3 on their XBox long enough to put on some "cool" looking tactical gear, break open the piggy bank and go buy a cheap cool looking "scary" rifle, and pretend to be something they are not...for real.

I call BS. Give them the time of day and attention they so desperately want and you elevate them above a slug, something they so desperately need...to be seen as more than they are.

I say fuck'em. Ignore them. Pay them no attention. Why, because the seriousness of your (our) conviction and the exercising of our second amendment rights and our steadfast support of the Republic trumps their play dates any time.

Guerilla USA will happen. Small pockets of resistance will occur in time - whether it be freedom loving Americans defending their homes and family, or Marxists Leninist fascists, it will happen. We will be immersed in civil war, IMO. Next time the last of the liberty is booted from government the Marxists will take over and dominate. 5yrs, 10, idk. I just hope I am healthy and able bodied when it occurs.

People have been saying the same thing since 1866. It has happened in the past, and will happen again. Over one group or the other, someone pisses off someone else and %^&* hits the fan, locally.

I spent a couple of weeks last year with what all of us would call a "hard core prepper" Land, food, bunker and stuff.

he quit.....

I asked him why, his answer was "and I quote" I spent the last 15 years of my wealth and life getting ready for life as we know it to end, well I am now going to spend the next 15 years living for the now and enjoying what life I do have left.

That drove a hell of a point with me. That is: train, be ready, and quit worrying about stuff I can not control and live life and enjoy it. with my .223, and 9mm at the ready.

What John said above. None of us know when things may go south in a hurry or what may trigger it. It could be an economic collapse, a nuclear detonation stateside, N. Korea lobbing a nuke just 30 miles across the DMZ, Iran attacking Israel, etc........

Something will eventually happen. But I'm going to continue enjoying the life I have now and just prepare the best way I can for the unknown, without it taking over my life and the lives who are important to me. It's not worth it in my opinion to let it rule your life.

There IS a balance. Instead of "prepping" it's more of homesteading for us. A change in lifestyle that allows us to be less concerned with what goes on in the densely populated areas. And providing us with the place, a sanctuary for family to come, just it case it gets crazy.
