Good to see another one up. Today would have been a great day. I had every intention of getting the air rifles out, but just didn’t find the time. I just went out to see if I could try, but there is not enough light.
Welcome to the Challenge! Glad to have new shooters. Looks like a 20. Is that your own private range? Wish I had a private range!
Yeah man. Welcome! Thanks! Yes, it's at my in-laws. Awesome to have. Have it set for 0-100 yards.
Yeah man. Welcome!
That is actually pretty good considering the ammo. Ammo in 22lr makes a big difference consistency wise. You can tell that you have it shooting well.
Keep shooting with us. It is all in good fun. I love these targets and shoot them all year competing with myself, to see how I can improve.
I definitely plan to! I ordered a bunch of different 22 brands to try out. That was Wolf MT I shot the above target with but have some green tag and various S&K ammo on the way to try as well.
can I ask where you ordered from?
Just for mine own curiosity, as it’s hard to tell by the pic...can you mark the scores on the target? Or just type them out by row? I’m getting 3-5 points less than that when I try to see what counts as a hit. I really just want to make sure I’m counting my own correctly.I *finally* got a chance to take a crack at this target today. Had some weird issues with the 17HMR ammo, with a lot of split necks and failure to extract. Not having my .17cal cleaning rod, I had to use a pocket knife to pry the stuck cases out of the chamber. Bad batch of ammo perhaps? Who knows...
Marlin 197V in 17HMR
Mueller 8.5-25x optic
Hornady 17gr VMAX ammo
Front rest & rear bag
SCORE = 27
I couldn't hold it together on those 1/4" circles and shanked the whole row. I lost track and put two rounds on the 3/8" row, rightmost circle, so that was counted as a miss. We'll see if I can squeeze in another attempt next weekend.
For realz. Neither of us are winning it with our posted targets...I was just curious. I don’t count any where the rip hits the target, but I couldn’t see some of them very clearly.yeah... the scan didn't come out very clear so what I'm seeing on paper isn't what's showing on the screen. Regardless... I don't think I'll be bringing home any trophies with this attempt! Let me try to re-scan and upload again
Regular printer and standard size paper. I use card stock as it is a little heavier. You will have to download the file to print. What are y'all printing your targets with, all I have is a regular printer.
Thank you sir but honestly I wouldn't know where to start to look for a new target so I bow to your wisdom if you have one ready to choose and post it up. Sorry I have always been more of a shooter than a match director. LOL
I will take a look around and see if I can fins anything fun. Give me today and we will see.
Picking a Target is usually harder than shooting one.If anyone has any suggestions and would like to help Rob01 with a target, please help.
Remember this is a 50 yard challenge, some people don't have access to 100 yard range. How about a variation of this "dot torture" target?
- There are (10) 2-inch circles
- Fire the number of appropriate number shots per circle, matching the number. Circle 1 = 1 shot, Circle 2 = 2 shots, etc. 55 shots in all.
- One point for reach shot inside the circle. 55 points max
- 50 yards for irons, 100 yards for optics
Rob01 has to shoot with his weak side though
...or the patience to shoot 55 rounds.Remember this is a 50 yard challenge, some people don't have access to 100 yard range.
I know we’ve done a battleship one before, but it’s been awhile.I saw this if a point system could be figured out. Extra points for sinking each ship.
