Article: Are your bumper stickers giving away too much information about you? Know your audience.

When my daughter was born, I warned my mom NOT to go home and decorate my mailbox. She couldn't believe I said that. I told her I know people knew my wife was pregnant, but I didn't want random passersby to find out there was an infant at that location.

She still thinks I'm crazy.

Let's see, Punisher sticker, Glock sticker, gun"family diversity" sticker, NRA Life member sticker in the back window...... And this person can't figure out how the thieves targeted his vehicle not to mention wokesters.

While I do have some gun related stickers they're not the usual ones and a bit cryptic. CFF logo sticker, a Kalashnakitty (Hello Kitty holding an AK) and a Bonnie Blue Flag (which most folks thinks mean I support the Cowboys, ew).

None of the usual stuff that says "free gun with purchase of smashed window".

Ferris State sticker
Durham Bulls sticker
vanity plate using a Durham Bulls term
front license plate with the Terran Empire logo from Star Trek

Nothing that should outrage anybody. If anything it just screams "nerd".

No bumper stickers, no political signs in the yard, nothing to lead anyone to believe I have an opinion about anything.
We as a society seem to have lost the ability to politely disagree or just ignore things that bug us. With the seemingly increasing numbers of nutjobs willing to commit violence against those who donā€™t share their ideology, I just want to blend into the background.

Yep, this right here. No logos or signs on anything.

So many people have an opinion and an audience these days, it's hard to say how anyone will react. Star Trek folks would take offense if I have a Darth Vader sticker (heck, Star Wars fans would ALSO take offense because that's mainstream now, and they were OG). So I agree it's best to have no signs or stickers.

That, or you could just intentionally offend/confuse everyone. Like this. šŸ¤£

I once saw 2 stickers on the same car in rural TN. The first one said "I Eat Ass" and the second one said "Twenty Dollars is Twenty Dollars". I thought it was pretty hilarious. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see who was driving.

Not a bumper sticker, but CFB fans always give a ration of crap for my Univ of Tennessee vanity plates šŸ˜‚
Not a thing gun related or anything else on any of our vehicles

I've got feet on both sides of the fence on this one (hopefully it's not as high as my crotch). I can certainly see why it's not good to advertise where one works or lives, the makeup of family members, or how affluent one is (but the vehicle itself probably projects that). I'm not as sure about things like hobbies and pastimes, even though they may imply expensive toys, and I'm really against not wearing your ideals about life and even politics on your sleeve/bumper. Is it dangerous? Could your car get keyed? Maybe. Therefore you take as much precautions against that as you can, rather than cower and hide and not allow the world to see that conservative/libertarian views are MAINSTREAM and not only held by fringe lunatics. Also you are standing up and letting other like minded folk know they are not alone. That's why I'm also for open carry when dressed and acting respectably (with proper retention, etc.).

I just sold this bike but I used to ride it to meet my friend in probably one of the most liberal places in NC (Saxapahaw) for beers regularly, and probably wore gun or trump shirts there on occasion. That's a three percenter sticker on the tank. It's recognizable to most real conservatives but not most liberals. Remember what I said about taking some precautions?

I can see in circumstances like high threat environments such as getting home in lawless conditions like after an EMP, etc. one would want to be a gray man as in not displaying any capabilities/weapons others would want, but in day to day living I think gray is hiding and plays right into the hands of our enemies, it's not good for us. Grow a pair people.

Sorry for the mini OT rant.

I removed all controversial bumper stickers, themed t-shirts, caps, etc. a good while ago. (Part of my gray man conversion.)

My own personal single line in the sand -- I refuse to remove my POW/MIA windshield sticker. (And woe be unto anyone who challenges me in any way on that one.)

I wear plain cloths without writing and have only one sticker on vehicle that I only drive (The Founding Fathers Would Already Be Shooting). I never go anywhere that is risky, do not leave anything inside and live way away from highways. That is no guarantee but I liked that sticker.

When I had my truck painted, the guy asked if I wanted the graphics added back. I said no.

Ain't no telling what BS snowflake group symbol gets adopted that resembles anything on a 95 Tacoma.

I have a big ol' BFL, people that notice ask what that gear sticker is about... A NRA life member, a Ski-Doo bumble bee, and some 4x4 fabrication shop sticker. Turns out I shoot, used to sled, been known to fabricate. The beat up, rusted Super Duty with a fabricated rear bumper and headache rack probably had them guessing 1 and 3 anyway. 15 years, it's never been messed with.

Yeahā€¦the BFL is one of those IYKYK kind of stickers. Only people that have ever asked me about them had no idea what they were. One was a graphic designer and just liked the look, and the other simply had no idea.

Just replaced them late last year after at least a decade with the old ones.

My son worked at a local dealership. He sold me a car. He came home from work and wanted to know what happened to the license plate frames.

Every time I took the car back for service, they'd put new ones on. I'd take them off as soon as I got home

No stickers for me,ever. When I was in high school I had a license plate frame that said NO FAT CHICKS. Wish I still had it on occasion. Best part was my oldest sister was 5ft and pushing 300lbs.I usually parked so she had to walk past my car to get in the house. She was a first class A hole and deserved every thigh chafing step while reading that.

Love it! I tried to get our local T shirt guy to make me a shirt with a bolt face on it with a slogan and was told that some gun company had the rights to the bolt face image so he couldn't use it. I can't remember what gun company that was but I always thought it was wrong to be able to patent the image of a common object.

AR15.com owns the likeness of the ā€œstylizedā€ bfl they use on their website and merchandise. They are fairly aggressive in pursuing infringement to from what Iā€™ve seen.

No idea why part of that sentence is italics, wonā€™t let me remove them either lol

I have a small microtech logo sticker and a small skull with ā€œwe the peopleā€ under it on my rear truck window. That is all.

I took ours off so that there are no conversations with LE around whether they are obscuring any writing (ie illegal).

Nothing firearms-related.

Just a WSFD patch decal and a few National park, coast, hiking/camping stickers.

I figure folks see my vehicle stickers, theyā€™ll probably think, ā€œHeā€™s an old hippieā€¦and he donā€™t know what to do.ā€
