I would shoot your dogs if they charged me. no offense, but i'm not waiting until my face is in its mouth to find out if it's going to lick or bite. That’s some bull shit my pit busts our storm door open all the time to chase people down and lick them to death. That guy went outside with the intention of shooting that dog.
Pretty easy dog owners. If you don’t want your dog shot it is your responsibility to keep them chained up, on a leash or locked inside. It is not the public’s duty to determine whether your dog is charging to lick, play or maul them. I would have done the same thing. And Yes I know that your pit is harmless and wouldn’t harm a fly. I don’t care and if it is loose and runs at me I will shoot it..
your pit charges me or my family to come lick us and it will be ventilated. I don't have time to decide the difference between a lick and bite. Restrain your dog like I manage to do mine and odds are greatly in your favor nothing will happen. It comes busting through a door and bad stuff is going to happen %99 of the time. Please let logic and understanding prevail over your feelings. That’s some bull shit my pit busts our storm door open all the time to chase people down and lick them to death. Threat is over, shooting again would be a crime.MFer that shot the dog needs to be beaten with a ball bat to the point where he can only writhe on the ground and pull himself around with his hands...
My friend had some rott/shep mixes. They were well behaved and generally tame, but they HATED the neighbor kids.your pit charges me or my family to come lick us and it will be ventilated. You better shoot me too and quickI will shoot it
Sad situation for the dog, and the shooter. The owner of the dog is partly to blame for his death for not keeping him in a kennel, chained, or whatever else to keep him safe and on his property.
You better shoot me too and quick
ETA for clarity: because if you just shot my dog you made yourself an imminent threat.

I’m on my own property being attacked by your dog that you failed to properly restrain making me shoot your dog and now you are mad at me for not letting your dog maul me? So now you will come onto my property to shoot me?You better shoot me too and quick

Legally the dog owner is responsible to contain his animal. The pup didn’t touch the coward, so it’s a threat not an attack.I’m on my own property being attacked by your dog that you failed to properly restrain making me shoot your dog and now you are mad at me for not letting your dog maul me? That makes a whole lot of sense
If you could google “personal responsibility “ it may clear this all up.
If a someone is running at you on your property with a pipe how many times do you have to be hit with it before you can shoot him and not be a coward? I am betting you would have them face down in the dirt before they even got close to you. Great shoot and totally justified Sir. And I wouldn’t call you a coward for not letting someone attack you.Legally the dog owner is responsible to contain his animal. The pup didn’t touch the coward, so it’s a threat not an attack.
A man running at me with a pipe is clear intent. Dogs bluff, a lot, especially when your backing up or running away. I respect life more than killing a pup, just because I get an adrenaline spike. If a someone is running at you on your property with a pipe how many times do you have to be hit with it before you can shoot him and not be a coward? Maybe he is just another irresponsible dog owner who was running up to you to ask if you have seen his dog running around the neighborhood because he was walking his dog off a leash.A man running at me with a pipe is clear intent. Dogs move faster than people. Yes, dogs bluff, but they also attack. You don't know the difference until they either turn around or bite. I've been attacked before, not keen on having it happen again.A man running at me with a pipe is clear intent. Dogs bluff, a lot, especially when your backing up or running away. Thats a good possibility and what i was trying to point out. Dogs and bullets don't know nothing about property lines. And you can be right and still make a bad situation worse. I'm out of this thread because yall are raising my blood pressure with this BS. Live well, but far from me.Bullshit !
Your dog is in someone else's yard, good intentions or bad and you're going to get mad!?!
F-that, we'll have a good ol' shoot- out then....

That one I call BS on. Dogs do understand property lines. They regularly "mark" their territory and they will defend it.

A negligent discharge is one where the bullet goes somewhere unintended.
And that Gun owner / operator has the ultimate responsibility to control that Bullet while in their control/ ownership..
Whoops... sorry you got shot. The bullet was only bluffing..
Same as the damn dog. You are responsible to control your dog at all times. You are negligent in losing control of said dog.
" Oh, relax !.. the bullet didnt even hit you..."
" Oh, Relax.. the dog was bluffing.. "
Difference there is a well trained dog can be controlled and called back once it is released. Never heard of a well trained bullet.
