Beware of Gun Nuts! 😳

Soooo...is there a vandalism charge forthcoming in court?

I guess we'll find out tomorrow, when he's scheduled to appear in court.

Ahhh...what an idiot.

Apparently, he did this when the vehicle owner was in the vehicle:

The Nissan’s owner and passenger heard a loud scratching noise against their car, and then saw the mark on their vehicle. When the passenger asked Miller if he was responsible, the Democratic lawmaker flatly denied it, Cranston police said.

The victim then saw the car next to his had a “Re-elect Senator Josh Miller” bumper sticker in the back of the car, prompting him to look up the name.

“He then looked up Senator Josh Miller on the internet on his cell phone, which returned a photo of him,” the police said in a new release. “He immediately recognized the subject in the photo as the person he suspected of keying his vehicle.”

And then:

He denied any involvement in the car keying in his first interview with police, the footage shows.

Miller was allowed to leave the scene as officers reviewed surveillance footage from the parking lot that later matched up with the victims’ version of events, Cranston police said.

So, for now it's vandalism/malicious injury to property AND obstruction of a police officer.

I was fascinated by what a POS this Miller is. So, I watched everything I could find. Seems it went like this…

The guys are walking back to their vehicle with Starbucks drinks in hand. They get near the left rear and hear the scraping sound. Continuing, they see Miller standing near the rear of the scratch on the right side of the car. They confront him, he denies and walks away.

In the bodycam footage, one of the cops appears to determine that the scratch began at the front of the vehicle and moved rearward. So, they assume Miller hopped out of his truck, scratched from front to rear and had just finished when encountered near the right rear quarter panel.

I hear the wagons circling now. Nothing will happen.

It has already happened. He has so far been treated with kid gloves. Do you honestly think they would have treated you like they did him even though they said: “Nobody is above the law, including those who make and enforce the laws,” Colonel Michael Winquist said in a statement.

Assuming he is convicted, I believe a just punishment is:

1. Compensate the victim for his loss.
2. A public apology to the victim and RI citizens.
3. A $5,000 fine.
4. Must prominently display a Biden Sucks decal on all vehicles he drives until there is a Republican occupying the White House.

Then, I’d forgive him. 🤪

FIFY.

Also...he's a state senator, not a U.S. senator

Please fix it back. He’s gotta publicly recognize that Biden Sucks! I don’t give a crap who replaces him in the RI Senate. They deserve him. 😉

Given that he's in RI, just having this guy get primaried by anyone who can run against him saying his opponent is an entitled untrustworthy turd would be sufficient. Seems like a realistic end to actions have consequences and being made to absolutely own it.

Oh, so NOT these? Because Im not messing with these either

@Jeppo could get a bronze set and hang it from the front of the VP9 to take the place of the other counterweight, but he'd have go get @chiefjason to make a holster with a built in budgie smuggler.

Wait a minute... This dude was so afraid of a "crazy gun nut" that he was compelled to damage that persons property... Out of "fear"?

That may be the most incredible thing I've ever heard.

"You made me so scared you would hurt me, that I couldn't help but damage your property".....

Because of course the correct answer to fending off "crazy people" is to mess with their stuff🤔

I know it won't happen. But may that moron be brought before the cesspool that is social media for the world to see...

Officer: Why did you key the car?

Senator: I felt threatened so I keyed it.

Officer: But what’s the reason to key the car? That’s the question.

Senator: B/c he was daring me to

Officer: Oh ok

🤨🧐

Silly gun nuts!

Arraigned today. $2,850 restitution and a $250 contribution to a local charity.
and i assume the state dems are going to take action against him as well, for being the kind of leader they don't want to have...

On the contrary, they’ve said they won’t take any action because his behavior had nothing to do with his work as Senator. I’m betting he’ll be re-elected in a landslide. He got caught doing what his constituents only dream of doing.

There is a great deal of common sense here. If one is honestly afraid of the bear, one doesn't go around poking the bear with a stick.

HOWEVER, since you're bringing up common sense I'd like to point out that you need to STOP THAT! STOP THAT RIGHT NOW! WE'LL HAVE NONE OF THAT GOING ON AROUND HERE, ESPECIALLY THESE DAYS!

Now...I did notice a complete 180 between his earlier comments shortly after the incident and what happened in court.

Namely he entered a no-contest plea AND "...took full responsibility for both charges of vandalism and obstruction of a police officer".

In other words, every stupid, flimsy BS excuse he spouted when interviewed shortly after the event was 100% refuted by all kinds of plain evidence, including witnesses and video. He was flat out made out to be a liar and KNEW this absolutely wouldn't fly in court.

It's something he can turn around politically to his advantage. "I was stupid and did the right thing by taking responsibility" type of thing. Never mind he did everything he could beforehand to lie and deny.

He's not "sorry"...he's "sorry he got caught".

Isn't it funny how people parade around the term common sense, like everybody had good sense, when in reality, good sense isn't very common at all.

Adding to George's comment, the level of familiarity a person has with a topic is directly proportional to the amount of "common sense" they can apply.

Telling a person who doesn't reload to go pound a hammer on a loose primer will likely result in a loud and perhaps nasty surprise for those that comply. Tell that same direction to a reloader and he'll decline and think you've got a screw loose as he applies his "common sense".

I have been particularly annoyed at the weaponization of the term. As in "common sense" gun laws. It's like the emperor's new clothes. As in, if you don't agree then you're the village idiot.

Yep, and it get's uttered by people who don't know much about much, but as if by some cosmic joke got elected to represent a group and make law.

I'm really disappointed that any "public servant" in this situation has a choice. I thought "gross misconduct" was always grounds for termination.

And that's why it's up to the people to primary him, using the video of him lying to the cops as campaign dirt. What else is he lying about?

Easy there big guy. Saying something like that is like when people say "how stupid can you be?"

Some take it as a challenge.

That sound you hear is hammers and primers getting acquainted. 🤣

Because it hasn't been mentioned, I'd just like to say I find it interesting that a state senator believes that he would be "identifiable" in the wild. I wouldn't even recognize the elevator guy if I saw him at the grocery store and i see his picture on the elevator cert a lot.
