My buddy bought an Omnivore holster the other day because he was having some difficulty finding good holsters for his FNX .45. So he found this holster. Its not for everyone, but I thought Id share with you since I got to play with it a bit. They tout that it will fit 150 different pistols. This holster is unique, that it clamps onto the LIGHT, not the pistol. Which is a neat design. Yes, this is a light bearing holster, but they have one that is not. But, its a good set up if it fits your needs. So what I found neat, was that we had three different pistols. A Kimber 1911, the Glock 19 and the FNX .45. All with a Streamlight TLR 2 mounted….fit tightly and securely. Pretty amazing due to the extreme difference in length and width of all of three pistols. But, it states right on the package that is fits to the LIGHT , not the pistol. I took some pics for your enjoyment.
Holster construction was a very well made, hard plastic. The textured part you see is a rubberized "matting" on the side. The active retention is a thumb release (mash down) and it releases smoothly. comes with a belt loop set up and a paddle. My buddy mounted it on his Serpa platform. Its a pretty slick rig.
Again, not for everyone, but if you are looking for options on a hard to fit pistol , and want to carry with a light, and use it for MULTIPLE pistols…. This is a good option. Cost $64.00 .
