I was putting some rounds through my Huntertown Arms 9mil can and that SOB blew apart on me. No baffle strikes, end plate is entact. Just a clean break where the back end of the tube starts being threaded. Ill get a pic tomorrow, we'll see where HA customer service stands

following

sounds like scary situation

hope they back up their products

Man that sucks. Hope they have good customer service. Keep us updated.

HA has a horrendous internet reputation for their Customer Service, or rather lack thereof. That's why it'll be interesting to see an actual case being handled.

Watching this one. Hope this gets handled quickly for you brother. If these things were not so difficult to get it wouldn't be near the pain in the butt when something goes wrong.

Anymore info on the details?

Ammo brand, weight, host, was it new or used before this issue, wet?

Does is look like this failure on one of Huntertown Arms 556 suppressors?

Templar Tactical / CRUX has had issues with tubes splitting open as well. Problem even after they changed the companies name.
Yeah...that may actually be who I was thinking of. Not that HA hasn't had issues, but the engraving that was too deep could've been the Crux cans.

CRUX is a high dollar can too. I guess anything can fail in the manufacturing area. No injuries here is the most important thing!

I've seen another HTA can blow apart at the threads; only it was a much higher pressure 5.56 can.

Were you shooting 9mm through it or 300 BLK?

Homemade, 147gr, 3.5gr of 231, 950fps out of a SBR AR9, Used, not wet, probably 3k rounds through it or so.

Im sending off the info tonight to start the ticket for warranty, Ill keep everyone updated. Ive heard about their bad CS, which has me worried. The dealer I bought it from recommended HA (that was way before I got involved with forums)

Probably just the picture but looks like a cast pipe. I am sure it isn't. Hopefully you can run a different can while you wait.

Out of curiosity - when it happened, did the can just pop and fall or did it shoot downrange with the force?

I just saw it move funny, initially I thought the threads worked loose. It had that look like it wasnt tight against the barrel

Not sounding good!

dang bud, sounds like a bad situation getting worse.

Called today and got a live, breathing person, he even gave me his email to send him info and pictures
Glad to see this. I was about to see how deep my list of contacts was...

I may not always know people, but I definitely know people that know people. :D

Glad to hear that! Hope this turns out ok for you

Any response?

Unfortunately due to laws I am unable to let you borrow one in your time of need. Hopefully laws will change at some point.

And don't say you don't need one. We all need one or a dozen.

They had a whole batch that the engraving was too deep or something.

I don't think that split had anything to do with engraving....unless they engraved a line down the length of the can
