BST Changes - Posting in ads & 24 hr Bump

We will spend the next six months answering PMs and reports from people who say something is broken because they can't reply to a thread.

True story...
While ^that^ has been true…the bigger issue has been people reporting threads for “no price” because they don’t look at the new price field. Here’s an example of an ad that was reported for no price listed…

Any way to default that field to bold and/or force it to start with a “$”?
I’m sure that we’ll all acclimate to the new fangled way of doing things, just pointing this out for the older members, and the younger members.

Just a reminder.

The price field as at the top, above the message/pics. It does not have to be included in the body of the message.

Had a member report another ad for no price, and it’s clearly there where it’s supposed to be.

It isn’t where people expect it, it isn’t formatted, and it just blends in. Maybe just a transitional issue, but I still read an ad, think wtf no price, then go hunting for it. Of course I’m old and set in my ways.

But, do you get more reports of no price now or before the change? Was it ever really an issue or was it just part of the whole discussions in bst problem.

It feels like I’m drafting a FOIA request, but it’s really not a big deal.

We got at least 10x the number of “no price” reports before the change than we do now.

A lot of times it was multiple reports for the same ad.

BTW…looks like @amnesia might’ve turned the prices red and bold now

Why, you weren't supposed to be posting in the threads anyway.
Exactly.

Considering “I’ll take it” holds zero weight, I don’t know what somebody feels like they need to post in an ad for anyway?

If I have questions, I’m sending a PM.

That is my experience too. I was looking at one of the listings, purely out of curiosity, and thought, "What's the price? That would be good to know." Kept looking and finally saw the field for it, but I had to look for it.

As a seller, got tired of the tire kicking in the thread, but I dont suppose tire kicking in pm was any different.
As a buyer I liked to look at the public comments on a listing as it sometimes helped you gauge the quality of a seller. Also, the finality of "ill take it" after many rounds of pms was a seal-the-deal confirmation in my mind. Having it there publicaly negated having to go screen shot the pms that may contain trivial or personal jabber. Although I may not choose to report someone in negative feedback, I felt that this type of action in a thread would be noted by other people of the community as a dubious individual. Yes yes, I get that the response my musings above will be "deal with it". Just my two cents- and yes I get that 2 cents adjusted for today's inflation is 0.

actually, it’s worse than that…you need to send me a nickel…it’s gone from +2¢ to -5¢

I made uploading images easier. It automatically inserts upload pics and removes the thumbnail option

edit: from my ipad the thumbnail option was gone, but I still had to select ”insert” and then “full”

I think the issue @JimB is you see this and since you've always had to click insert the behavior is still there. If I do nothing and just hit post reply it inserts full image

Based on some recent questions/comments I’ve seen around here, I’m bumping this one.

I do not have those options at the bottom of ads, I had the option to reply to this conversation but I do not on ads. When I attempt to PM someone it says there was a problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Recently we've had a spate of members being scammed, in some cases hundreds of $$. As a result, members with very low post counts outside of the classifieds have had permissions restricted. Participate in some of the conversations, get to know the group and let them get to know you. The permissions will reappear when you've hit the magic number (it's a fairly low bar).
