My wife is the Girl Scout Leader of the local troop. Both my daughters are scouts (7yo and 5yo). I volunteer to do the heavy lifting for the troop.

I just went and picked up $9000 worth of GS cookies for our troop to sell. Over 200 cases of cookies filled up my trailer and the bed of my truck. They officially go on sale tomorrow morning!

If you'd like to order online, please use this link. The cookies get shipped directly to you and my daughter, and the troop, get credit for each box sold.

Thank you!

Online cookie sales start at 9am on January 11th.

Do you know which distributors these are from?

Can we order some from your daughters and pick up in Pittsboro?

Great question!

Absolutely! Anybody who lives near Pittsboro can PM me directly and I'll bring the cookies to you. If we agree on a time to meet that's not during school hours, then I'll bring my girls to "sell" them to you.

No need to use the website if you live near Pittsboro. Just PM me instead...

I found the listing of types of cookies here.
https://www.girlscouts.org/en/cookies/all-about-cookies/Meet-the-Cookies.html

But my older daughter noticed that it said not all of them may be available in certain areas. Do you have a list of which ones you are selling in person?

We have:

Thin mint
Peanut butter patties
Peanut butter sandwich
Caramel Delight
Thanks a lot
Shortbread
Lemonades
S'mores

Gluten Free: We have Caramel Chocolate Chip

I feel like I'm missing one or two... We have them all... Except we only have one gluten free kind and they are in limited supply because the factory never makes enough.

S’mores man what about the s’mores?

That's it! I got em. They taste awesome frozen too!

I know I told myself last year I’d buy a bunch and freeze them. That didn’t work out like I expected it to.

You still have my address. I'll text you my order and you can deliver them Sunday.

Bring the girls so they can play with Remi.

Good thing your wife was riding shotgun on that cookie transport. ;)

@Alabamacoastie

I remember there was an option last year when we ordered from some kids down our street to purchase cookies and they would be sent to our US troops.

Do you have that option and would it count towards your girls sales/credit?

I will definitely order some from your girls man. Love me some peanut butter cookies, and thin mints. Might have to try the S'mores.

What’s the timeframe here? We still have a stash of Xmas cookies. Could we meet in a week or two in Pittsboro? I’ll bring cash you bring cookies?
Yes sir. You PM me when you are ready! We'll be selling cookies for a month or two.

Just trying to help out your girls and our troops. Not sure if you missed my question? We haven't met so I know you can't dislike me yet...unless @kcult gave you some dirt

Thank you for the reminder! I just got home from passing out cookies to the girls in our troop. Im exhausted from moving 200 cases of cookies back and forth today...

I will ask my wife about "Operation Cookie Drop" and reply asap with the proper way for you to order those and help the girls in our troop deliver cookies to the troops...

In the mean time, I'll tell you a funny story...

I was on the ground in Um Qasr, Iraq, for my second tour, in 2007... One day, we heard MAIL CALLLLLLLL! and a young US Marine came walking toward the center of base with a giant box... He dropped the box and we all gathered round.

A Gunnery Sargent (that nobody liked) cut the box open and stepped back. Then another young Marine reached in and just started throwing random objects into the air. No one had any idea what was flying into the air, nor what they were about to catch...

I stuck my hands into the air, caught some random object, and started running, like a linebacker in college football, toward my quarters. I didn't even look at what I was carrying until I got back to my bed...

When I finally looked at my prize, I was immediately filled with happiness. In my hands was a box of Girl Scout Thin Mints... My FAVORITE!

The only problem was that this was July in Iraq and it was 120 degrees farenheit outside. I ripped the box open and pulled out one of the two foil sleeves. It was so hot that the thin mints had melted and the cookies inside had disintegrated...

What did I do? I did what I had heard so many Marines say over and over again... Adapt and Overcome!

I ripped open a corner of the foil sleeve, and I squeezed the melted gooey thin mint goodness into my mouth like a giant tube of toothpaste!

I drank both sleeves of thin mints, that way, within 5 minutes. It was amazing.

That's probably the best memory I have from either of my two tours in Iraq. 15 months away from home... Five minutes of drinking liquified girl scout cookies.

That was a wonderful moment that I will never forget...

Awesome to hear that and EXACTLY why my wife and I do this year in and year out. Actually the first time I have ever heard a first hand account of those cookies being received by a soldier. Very cool and a cool story to boot...

Samoas are now the more PC "caramel delight", right?
because I could do at least 2-3 of those for me, and then the gluten free for the mrs...

And yes, thin mints is one of them for me.

Yes sir! Lemonades!
Thanks! I am getting my daughters to each pick out two boxes that they want, and I’ll shoot you a PM about meeting up somewhere so they can buy them from your daughters. We live in Apex but they go to school near Farrington house, so we could head down towards Pittsboro one evening after my daughters basketball game or something
We also want to send some to the troops when that info is available.

time for crack.
I'm trying to decide if i want to pay the $12 extra for shipping, or take my chances on finding a cookie booth with the cookies i neeeeed...
If i lived closer, I'd PM and buy direct, but i'm a bit south of fayetteville and I have no reason to spend more on gas than shipping right now :-/

Could be taken two ways, you just didn't get around to buying them, or you bought a bunch and ate them all before they made it to the freezer. I would expect the later of the two if you are a true red blooded southerner.

Come on man, it's for the kids, haha.

So, click the link that I provided earlier and that takes you to the page that's set up for my daughter, Grace... Then click "Cookie Share" and donate as much ($4 each) as you like. Then, that many boxes get shipped to the troops overseas and my girls get credit for the sale.

Cookie Share is a blanket term. Different troops donate coookies to different groups of people. But, our troop only donates to Operation Cookie Drop. So, whatever you order from my daughter's link (and click Cookie Share) is guaranteed to go to troops deployed overseas...

Thank you!

Perfect! Thanks for the update. Will place an order this afternoon sometime.

looks like i'm buying some from your girls after all.
Toss in a box of the gluten free chocolate chip ones if you can. I know nobody with a gluten sensitivity would ever lie about it and serve in the military, so that's not the issue.. but I remember them being pretty darn good and I think they were smaller than the other cookies so they're better for sharing around.
