A teaspoon of shock makes 2 gals of 6% bleach. A 5lb bottle of HTH granular pool shock will make 650 gal of 6% bleachWhat is the mix ration for sodium hypochlorite?
Could say it liberates it.It just sets it free.
And isn’t it a tablespoon of 6% bleach to sterilize 5 gal of reasonably clear water?A teaspoon of shock makes 2 gals of 6% bleach. A 5lb bottle of HTH granular pool shock will make 650 gal of 6% bleach
Get the whatever it’s called … Long chemical name that is 99.99% chlorine.Pool shock is a better prep by far
Still? I don’t know, but I heard this spring that pool chemicals were going to be in shoRT supply.Isn’t there still a major chlorine/bleach shortage? My wife bought shock the other day at one of the warehouse clubs. It cost more than 50% more than last year.
Thanks for the info. . Will look at pool chems for sure.I have 12 gallons that are out of date by over 2 years. Did the smell test, time to dump. Learn something new every day.
