Well, to be fair, she came from a time when journalists had integrity.
And a certain Asshat from Germany was on the cover of Time too.Myth. That time never existed.
Remember, Stalin was loved by our media. Nothing to see there. Move along. Heck, read about the press going back to at least the Adams vs Jefferson race. They have always sucked and been lying scum.
ahem, he was from AustriaAnd a certain Asshat from Germany was on the cover of Time too.

Fair point. And to be fair, without a coroners report, we have no clue what killed him. Could have been heart attack, brain aneurism, who knows what. And some one coughs this time of year could be from a myriad of reasons. Just because the rona is constantly pushed in the media doesnt mean everyone is passing it along.
I read Germany was quick to include artists and other aesthetics in their emergency bail out plans because they remembered what happened when an out of work artist had too much time on his hands.

Apparently Cooper is running his mouth about not enough people staying home. lets just take a look at the large businesses that will continue to run in the greater Hickory area and things will start to get clear. And I know this is not all of them.
MDI, PFG, and Hackney- all food distribution
Flowers and Bimbo bakeries
Bartlett Milling
Apple
Microsoft
Various emergency services
Corning
Commscope
Maple Springs Laundry
Target distribution
Fed Ex
UPS
XPO, Southeastern, Gaines, Red Classic and other trucking companies
Just because you can shut down RTP without causing a societal collapse does not mean you can do that around here. Shut the above businesses down and you best bar the doors and load the guns because it would get ugly, fast.
On Saturday we went to High Point and it looked like it was a typical Saturday afternoon based upon the crowds. On the way to the parkway every grocery store, family dollar, dollar general we passed was also packed.
Dude come to Raleigh & look at all the idiots who are: Piled into the parks/greenways (to the point that it totally defeats the purpose of social distancing/stay at home), having parties, playing beach volleyball. It's ridiculous and thats what he's getting at. I'd say most of the businesses you listed would be considered "essential", so I can promise you the governor aint talking about that. It's all the numbskulls who are going on as if this virus wont affect them or their family.
Then deal with Raleigh. That's one of my issues. Dealing with an issue nation or state wide that is more local in most cases. One size fits all is usually one size fits the least. But be careful. The cost of forcing people to stay home and not come out for that type of stuff has a cost too.
Remember when we were being told to get out in nature, go hiking, go to the park, go camping to avoid having to stay home all the time? I do. And there are health benefits associated with this that improve by getting outside. One of the treatments for the Spanish Flu was sunshine. And it worked. Vitamin D creates a poorer environment for the virus to thrive in.
I dont think you understand how viruses work. If someone out in rural wake county gets it then takes a trip into Raleigh to see their uncle who gets it who then goes into a group then it spreads. Everyone has to stay home, stay away from people. Not just city folk. Everyone.
I'd love to see your source for VitD preventing Covid19.
Great so generally helps you fight infection, does not prevent Covid 19 at all. So sure, VitD is healthy for you. VitD does not prevent Covid 19.

Louisburg just issued an order to all businesses: 1 person allowed inside per 144 square feet.
It's the "Because I Said So" clause of the State Constitution.Exactly what legal standings does an "order" have? Especially to private businesses. I could maybe see it with government buildings, but still
more commuters bringing it back to “the sticks” as well...
As far as vitamin D, no one claimin g it’s a cure for covid, but it’s an important component of the complex orchestra that is immunocompetence. Like vitamin C, A, follic acid blah blah. Anyone who thinks a nutrient is more than part of basal level health is misunderstanding vitamins.
Basic A&P teaches you that consuming a proper amount of nutrients and vitamins boosts your immune system. Take a lot of virology electives in the cosmetology course?
My wife and I have a house in Graham county which is in Western NC. We have not been able to go there in the past three weeks because they closed down the county. They have zero cases of the virus. They have no hospitals in the county. It is an inconvenience to us but I applaud them for the decision. As for vitamins, I start taking 8000 IU of vitamin D3 at the beginning of flu season and I've gotten the flu twice in the past ten years and it was a two day thing both times. Both times were when our son got the flu and came to our house for care. Your mileage may vary.
Vitamin D creates a poorer environment for the virus to thrive in.

Just when I thought the day was boring beyond belief, Google served up this hilarious treat.

I have no idea how Google chose a photo from the Wake County Police Report to use for Wake County.
