Diamondback Sidekick

Finally got one. Feels good. Have some weight to mimic a bigger caliber I'm guessing. The fake ejection rod opens the cylinder. Barrel is thick. DA is heavy which is normal for a cheap gun. Single action is ok. But then again it was 300 OTD for me at LGS. Great fishing firearm or farm use. I plan to make this my trapping sidearm.

Finally starting to see Sidekicks around, some still trying to get 399 though which ain’t happening. But… saw a used w/box Rough Rider for $125. Add a Mag cylinder and it’s $155 total. Want a 22WMR for snake shot. Love the 9 rounds, swing out cylinder and transfer bar safety… but is it worth 2x even at MAP? I can’t quite decide.

I would say yes. The quality is miles apart.

Interesting. I was unimpressed with the cerakote, it was overly thick and it orange peeled a little bit near the barrel / receiver connection. But I didn’t really get to play with the action as it was still new in the box and had its safety flag etc.

No issues on mine. Now the heritage will peel at some point

I received this answer to my question about the type of zinc alloy. I think they are using EZAC.

From what our notes say it is a high strength Zinc based Alloy, so I think it’s a special blend they came up with for the Sidekick.
I hope this helps 😊

Thank you,
