Did You Go Shooting Today

@Hashknife and I went down to shoot The Wizard. I had just returned from the movies and went down and Killed the Wizard....cold, street clothes, G26, Thumper loads. This thing is tough. Still only been defeated by 1 person. I can't wait for all of you to try him out. Somebody from CFF has Got to kill him!!!!

I shot the Wizard with a Sig P938 from pocket carry. Made it through the first 3 head shots no problem. On the last 2 shots, I Engaged the A zone at 10 yards and hit the first shot followed up by a failure to feed and time ran out.... The Wizard wins today...!

The Wizard aint easy folks....

@Hashknife could Not have possibly chosen a harder platform to try on the Wizard. That being said, if you pass with a gun you never carry what does that help? He performed the head shots from 3,5 and 7 yards perfectly. The 10 yard Double is always the problem. That doesn't mean the others are easy, just slightly easier. The range is in the best configuration it has ever been in. The car, the ATM, the dining table, The Wizard, The El Prez, are all great individual tests but they lend themselves to adaptation to other training also.
Two weeks from today we will all be together again. Great fellowship, eating and shooting. Looking forward to seeing everybody again...let's make some memories.

Took the Savage MK II (22lr) and the CMMG AR15 to the range today. The Savage is all over a golf ball at 100 yards but tried to hit steel at 200 and was all over the place. The wind was blowing but not enough to move the impact 8 to 10 feet.
The CMMG worked as good as it ever has.
The only issues that I had today was the idiots shooting next to me with an AR and AK were resting the magazine (30 round) on the back side of the bench (stock on the table) which mean the muzzle break was 1/2 over the table. When the put the magazine on the table, the rifle was about 8" over their head. Beside being very uncomfortable shooting next to them it can not be safe. I asked them to move the muzzle to the range side of the table. They did until I walked over to the other end of the range to talk to someone. You could see the burn marks on the bench.

Last shooter just left. Shooting satisfied and full of apple pie. Today was a wonderful day!!! Another Wizard killer emerged. Our own Charlie Cupps did him in Perfectly. There are now 2 Wizard Killers . Many more tried....all failed. One shooter can do each stage but can't put them together and can't perform Cold. The others have "work" to do. We also got to shoot the Subpeona, fastest time on it was 1.25 sec, I was able to eeek that one out. The fastest time on Disc-O was 2.61 seconds. That's hitting 5 tractor discs at varying yardage from concealment. That's hustling!!!! Again performed by Charlie Cupps. I thought I was in High Cotton at 2.75 but NO. All these and of course The Guatamalan Steakhouse await ya'll when you get here. See you soon!

What’s a Guatemalan Steakhouse and what’s the record time for it?

That Ole Pard is the money match for our M&G. I have not let anybody shoot it. It wouldn't be fair to let folks practice ahead of time. It all starts with the "Diner" presenting himself to the Matre Di to make sure his chosen weapons system is in fact concealed. From there things become pretty hectic.
The prizes this year a impressive. Starting at 3 PM there will be some really nice "door prizes" given away. After the match is completed and all is done we will be loading up for a visit to the Salt Water Grill. You won't be disappointed.

Millie, for you that really is not worth a range trip :)
Normally, I'd agree.....lol.
I'm trying to do quality over quantity now. It's a tough challenge for me, since I love to blast away!

(Someday soon, I'll probably snap and shoot 300 rounds.....)

Shot a couple hundred rounds with my G19 MOS today. I'm hitting targets farther away than ever I have with the help of my new HE508T. It's a lot of fun.

Sadly I had a squib load that ended me up on kinda of a sour note. Scared the heck out of me, thank the lord above Me and the gun are ok. No more Monarch 9mm from Academy, I'll stick with the Winchester white box.

Broke in my new pistol today -- shot a few hundred rounds. Had a scary moment, though. The very first round I fired through the gun went down range just fine, but the trigger wouldn't pull on the second. I confirmed that there was a round in the chamber, but the trigger was frozen, the safety was frozen (on "Pew") and the slide was frozen. I ran a tap-rack-bang that amounted to a tap hard enough to tear the skin of my hand, but no rack. I removed the magazine, but was faced with a loaded pistol that couldn't be made safe, and that couldn't be cleared. I finally ran out of clever ideas, and resorted to my old military training -- in this case "If it don't fit, force it". I tried to force the slide back ... and finally succeeded, after applying way more goomph than should have been necessary. The ejected round appeared undamaged, the extractor was fine, nothing was bent, reamed, or wasted. So I reloaded my mags and proceeded to shoot her 'til she was hot. Everything functioned normally after that one hiccup, and the pistol performed flawlessly.

It was a great day!

Spent an hour at TSA in Raleigh for 9mm therapy. Beretta 92fs compact, Nano and the S&W M&P.
I always get assigned a lane between a pair of AR shooters, shotguns or 45-70.

Shoulda met me at Jim's this morning, nice and quiet, just me and a guy who wasn't there very long. lol.

I took a friend to the range this morning. We shot the RIA 9mm, the Springfield .45, the P238, and the G19. (We would have shot the .22 conversion, but I mislaid the magazine!) I think all the guns need to be cleaned, there were several "issues"....lol. Only a week before the Battery Oaks bash! I better get to it!
